It's the first time we hear about a concubine, right?
I don't really get why nearly all manhwas have that kind of things (concubines, few queens in addition of the empress...) when there are set in a European setting where these kind of things weren't a things at all. I mean I know it was a thing in Korea and China but still they should be more coherent imo. I guess it just bring easy intrigue and drama for the author to write about but I wish it could be less frequent.

@Mivas Agreed, it's quite weird. And the number of illegitimate children living with the main family! Sure, adultery happened as frequently as everywhere else in the world but it was extremely frowned upon. Bringing your illegitimate child into the main household was pretty much unthinkable.

While the male lead is not exactly happy with the arrangement either, he's at least trying to put up it and get along with her. Meanwhile the female lead is being an arrogant bossy, know it all that does whatever she wants all the time with no regards for anyone else and in the last few chapters is treating the male lead like a pet dog. I get that they are trying to mess with each other, but her attitude is going far beyond that and it's becoming annoying to read.

Ok her personality may come off as rly annoying but I get her tho. It doesn't have to be personal. Being part of the royal family is a shitty life to have. She's gonna have to deal w the overwhelming amount of responsibilities (including starving herself to look like the perf lady) of such a high status noble woman for the rest of her life. It would be mad depressing for someone as adventurous as her to live like that.
I see it now -- it will be several seasons, and they will nominally "hate" each other till the very end, to the point where the depth of their relationship will be in conflict with their "hateful" rationalizations and decision making, creating the classical manga-level writing characteristic of "this character acts contrary to their apparent/stated desires".
