you are reading the wrong series if you want romance, i mean just look at the title and tags....
What fascinates me about the comment threads in this manga is how much people (and here I wouldn't exclude myself) seem to get this animated over what seems like a fairly innocuous topic on the face of it - to be or not to be in a relationship (I'm reminded of an old aphorism - "Marry and you'll regret it, don't marry and you'll probably regret that too")
But, personal opinions/preferences aside, romance stories are a dime a dozen, you hardly come across any stories where it is
consciously sidestepped/avoided (as opposed to stories where it's simply not the focus of the plot to begin with), even in an exceedingly lightweight comedic capacity as in this one. One doesn't need to necessarily
dislike romance for this, but just for the novelty factor alone it would be a welcome change of pace to see a story where characters don't get pushed into relationships with a depressing air of inevitablity about it all.
To be sure, I feel the premise could have been handled with a lot more inventiveness and subtlety than is the case here, but in the absence of anything better one has to settle for "guilty pleasures" like this one.
