MC himself doesn't mind having relationship, he just have bad experience of clingy(?) gf so he decided that not having one is far better.
He did talk about his ideal partner with the adventure girl last time (that she asked him that "Isn't that what best friend is"?)

I would like if MC continue as loner but I'd not mind if MC found his ideal partner one day. I doubt this musician girl would be the one tho. At best they'd be just good neighbor unless there're some character development in future (The grandpa's will that MC insta delete got bought up again so It might play a huge part later?)

I know it’s a weird comparison, but I believe it would be similar to someone buying a whole ass 3 Michelin starred patisserie birthday cake just for himself to eat and celebrate, and considering many people would associate lavish spending of food with a special occasion, they think he’s a weirdo spending so much money on something that is usually only eaten as a form of celebration.

Probably because they consider it too expensive for something like that.

As a separate comment, really sucks the author is inserting this girl into the story and basically going against the theme of the story.
