Worth noting that the Japanese title does not make any mention about the gender of either main character. The "his" in the English title are liberties taken by either the translator or MTL (if it was used here). This is why I never really believed that Jun was a boy (I think Jun's a girl, but a tomboyish one.) For Murata, I'm not sure - they look so androgynous it could go either way.

If only this was in full color, one could tell by the color of their randoseru backpacks: it's typically black for boys and red for girls.

It was revealed in later raw chapters that Jun really was a boy, scanlator had the benefit of getting to see that early. I incorrectly assumed that the raws weren't far ahead and that there was no proof yet that he was a boy. I was wrong.
