This is actually a deceptively short read since each chapter is only about ten pages long at most.

It's more or less a nice light read. The setting is interesting for the first several chapters, but then quickly fades out in favour of light romance shenanigans... to which the supernatural element matters less and less. _{And by the end I almost felt it was mostly just doing duty covering up for some little hints of slightly uncomfortably age-gappy romance (tree-boy is noticeably childlike, acting like maybe a 14-year-old on average, but he's a 5000-year-old-tree, so, get-out-of-jail-free-card morally and all that). But that might be uncharitable of me.}
