Thanks for the chapter!
It's really hard to see the veil in the that full body picture. Ah the corset. A medieval torture device invented to enhance beauty while causing extreme suffering just like high heeled shoes. The pros are a slender figure, always able to fit in the same dresses even after years go by, and hiding the ribs from showing due to anorexia. Cons are cracked or crushed ribs, flesh and breasts developing permanent creases and weird appearances due to the extreme and constant pressure, wearer being light headed, constantly oxygen deprived, fainting, death, and death like symptoms due to difficulties breathing from the lungs being unable to draw in sufficient air needed for breathing from the corset minimizing the space available to expand in. Basically, the wearer suffocates even to the point of dying because their lungs don't have enough room to expand with air. So the bride pausing with every step isn't for formality but to give her a chance to catch her breath and she's swaying not from nervousness but oxygen deprivation. However, culture demands suffering for one's beauty even if it kills them. Why else would they use poison to look paler and cosmetics with lead to become a beautiful corpse?
Btw, between the corset cutting most of her air off and the weight of all that fabric it'll take her at least an hour to walk the 50-60 feet from the door to the altar without collapsing or passing out.
