I'm not sure I fully get it. It seems like they were drawn to each other because they were in opposite situations but once she started to dream she sort of lost value to him? So then she decides to forgo dreaming, keeping the door closed as it were?

He kind of came off as a jerk at the end there. He gave the impression its ok for him to talk about his dreams but not her. You almost get the impression he only hung out with her because she would enjoy hearing about his dreams since she couldn't have any of her own.

Fun fact: you do dream every night, you just pretty much immediately forget it after you leave REM sleep. Why someone would take medicine to not dream so much is ridiculous as if you're unable to dream, in theory, you shouldn't be able to remember anything.

Unless the manhua is going from a more symbolic angle for the dreams which I'm missing, like dreams representing your future ambitions and goals

And that line "did I influence you so quickly, I thought you would be different." almost as if he's gone through this before and he only wants some he can vent to not some he has to listen to. Cause if you remember @ the beginning he said he heard about her almost as of he's been keeping a lookout for people(girls) who don't dream so he can use them in this way. IDK that's just what I got from this. (At any rate I think he's a douche and that she chooses to keep dreaming)

High key Low key this has another interpretation aside from the literal one. Where the dream is instead a goal(dream) for the future and his constant dreaming can be seen as his drive/determination to make it happen. He finds her who has none and uses her to vent, as a way to work out his thoughts and make plans. Eventually she goes through a rough patch (the rain and the cold) he leaves her alone to deal with it. Though he does attempt to go see her(be there for her) he ultimately choose his own stuff over her and during this time she finds her dream(goal/desire for the future). So when they meet back up after this period of time of course she wants tell him all about it(as she believes her relationship with him was part of her inspiration) but instead of being happy for her he is disappointed/upset because he preferred her when she was aimless and so she chooses him over her newly born dream.

Well, I'm glad we can all agree he's a bit disappointing. XD

There probably is indeed something metaphorical going on here, because otherwise he's just remarkably a childish jerk, which is an odd note to end on. I feel like it's a bit lost on me though. Too much metaphor, not enough grounding.

Either way, purely subjectively speaking, it sucks a bit to have such a lovely dreamy sequence end so flatly like that :/
