A reminder, she is the one who saved original ed from hanging himself, so imagine how traumatizing that was for her to see him like that and she still ended up saving his live, honestly love that connection between them. This is why Belle is the best, really hoping she becomes an actual love interest to Ed she really feels like the only one besides maybe Lortelle who actually feels to be on his wavelength/level if that makes sense.

Spoiler: Novel spoilers

I know the novels extra's chapters/epilogue is in middle of Belle's arc but nothing is really pointing to her actually being in love with him even if that's the excuse she's using to fake kidnap him just hoping there's actual feelings there. And yes that is real in Belle's arc, for more context she directly works under Ed now after the events of the main game/story are over the main cast has graduated, Ed becomes a teacher at the school and she no longer works there and is at the Rothstaylor officially as their head maid. She pretends to kidnap Ed the fake reasoning being she fell in love with him, but the real goal is lower her pay because she such a super maid literally everyone wants Belle to work for them including royalty leading to ED and his sister having to pay way more then she feels comfortable. This was the only way she could think of to lower her standing and income, definitely not what I was expecting from her arc lmao.

No wonder Bell took what Ed did so hard. That was pretty fk’d up. Still, dad was a real one for not giving up his daughter. Though I can’t endorse his solution.
