Honestly this was a very cool story. 🥰 I absolutely love the vibes, plot, setting, and mc. The setting’s my favorite, it’s not very easy to find one with a good victorian-like era that incorporates magic and supernatural aspects.

This has been a very enjoyable read and I cannot wait for the 2nd season to release! 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

The whole final but where they were planning the robbery were definitely inspired but the original Ocean’s Eleven, which is really cool! This has a lot of potential for sure

I hate plots where they pretend the protagonist is a villain or morally dubious but then refuse to let them do anything evil, or even worse, make them actually always a good guy due to stupid contrivances.

Unfortunately this has that in spades, especially with the recent Casey Selmoy arc.

Unfortunately this has that in spades, especially with the recent Casey Selmoy arc.

I didn't really get this impression at all, because it was clear from the start that he wasn't a villain, he's just the typical "works in the shadows" type of rogue-ish hero. A bunch of people in the story think he's a villain (because he never bothers explaining himself), but it's pretty clear to the reader from the start that he's not a bad guy beyond the fact that he has no scruples with killing bad guys.

So I didn't take any issue with the Casey part (or other stuff after that) because even when we hadn't been given the actual details of what went on back then, it was pretty obvious it was most likely a misunderstanding on the other characters' part.

the first season was really good. the way the mc explains his magic is interesting and the writing was well done and the characters were realistic. the art was good. i’d give the 1st season by itself an 8/10.

the rest of the story is kind of dogwater. starting with the second season the writing, art, story, characters, translation, everything just starts to get worse and worse. i dropped at chapter 151 and by that point all of the intrigue and detailed worldbuilding the first season had was no where to be seen in favor of the same shlocky Light Show Fight Scenes, lame ass dialogue, and goofy situations. why can’t one of these stories just stay good?
