Is teasing the audience by having everyone split up the trademark for this author? Even worse than what happened with Helck.
For a side flick I randomly decided to read it was decent enough, but if I had to actually rate it fairly it would rank very low. Its hard to imagine this came after Helck, with how .. bare .. it was.
Shairo randomly becoming the most important character despite barely beeing a side character for a small arc, even over Diros who has been build up to have an interesting part is odd. Acaria never even regained her memories and her entire envolvement with the plot was as a generic "chosen one". Never mind her not regaining her memories, the real issue was it not beeing important. Not even teasing a "she woke up from one of the life capsules of the original spaceship" or anything.
My biggest (and only) issue with Helck was how much plot and twists were forced into the final battle, here it seems the author couldnt decide what the story should be about until the very end.
I fear Helck was a one hit wonder, with how close that was to a masterpiece I had genuine hope for this mangaka but this could as well have been made by ChatGPT. And considering how open the end is, how much a Helck sequel was teased and 7 years later there not beeing any.. it seems like bait
