Cato the Elder was in his teens during the second Punic War, so it could be him.

I'm guessing that it is indeed Cato (the future Elder). He was instrumental in undermining Scipio Africanus' political position leading up to the Third Punic War. This chapter seems to be providing a little backstory for the rivalry.

Glad to see Bostar get his just desserts, but Gisco's luck is about on par with Gaius'. Now, time to sit back & watch Maharbal step on his foreskin trying to capture Nola. Can't wait to see how Scipio fucks with his mind.

it's interesting how the Romans have the weakest cavalry, and their infantry aren't as strong as Gauls, but are unmatched at sea and backed up by the strongest economy.

Like, this is all historical, but it feels like balancing in a video game :p
