I would love if these two tags can be added to make searching for gender specific manga/Manwa/manhua wonder why this hasn't been added.

I don't think it would benefits to most of user because usually the demographic has already covers the need for this kind of thing. As for the worst case it would only make more confusing tags. I have already seen this implemented on Mangaupdates and even then it's not very effective.

Well, it's not entirely useless, so it wouldn't hurt to add, I guess... Steam has a category for games with female protagonists, so I assume that's where he might have gotten the idea from.

But usually, shounen manga will have male protags and shoujo will have female protags. Isn't that enough to tell?

I don't see the harm in more tags, I use them extensively on NovelUpdates and they help to avoid unnecessary waste of time and frustration.

As for the male/female protagonist tags, I personally find Japanese fantasy with female protagonists more bearable than the usual crap. There are plenty of series I wouldn't look at if not for the female protagonists (spider, bookworm, bear, shield loli, military shit, sol, etc).

Besides, MangaDex already has the shota and loli tags to assist with fapping. Why having more discoverability for normal series is such an outlandish thought?

Not even frecking hentai websites(Nhentai/exhentai/hitomi... Most of them, obviously you will eventually find some that does.) use the tsundere tag, and that's usually the tag of a SINGLE doujinshin, not from a whole manga that you can find 1 tsundere and that's already enough reason to use the tag.

Staff have answered multiple times that they don't plan to bloat the tag search system, and have pointed out that MangaUpdates exists for people who really need to find these niche topics for whatever reason. Even if other sites have them, MD doesn't plan to add any in the near future, since MD isn't those sites.

well, if it's annoyance for making minor tags that only represents the small scope and more detailed information about the manga. why not adding an option to make and add custom tags for members of the site to fill and have a place to contain those tags, like the tag archive in Sankaku Channel. https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/tag/index?order=date. instead of making them in house for specific.
then, for viewing you can make it turned off by default and have the option to show it or hide it in the description page.

we know making tags for every little content is such a hassle and will never end. that's why if it's possible tags like this can be just made as "Community/member made tags". that way the you(the dev especially) can completely brush off the question for adding this tags and tags and gave them a place to refer to.

Male/Female Protagonist tags would be extremely useful! For those of us who're already clicking through shit-loads of manga to try and find Girl MCs among the brain-dead plot glue that are typical guy MCs. Of all the many random tags that are already in place, I think these two tags would be considerably more help.

At the least it would save me from having to check genderswap all the time.
