it's a bit annoying "@" the username of someone to just reply a comment that was in the first page from the 212 page, like, the person does not know the context, so i have to write a hand made "cite" to make the person understand the context of my reply, also, i can volunteer to develop it if you guys want!

xenforo 2, the software the forums will be using in the future, has proper quote/reply features.

I'm not quite sure what you mean but Xenforo 2 is what the devs have said they're planning for the next version of the site, and I'm going to assume they have a lot of reasons for going for tried-and-true paid forum software beyond just a proper reply button and quote system
