Never understood why ppl would react so strongly to somebody else’s sexual orientation, they’re acting like she committed some unforgivable crime. They were literally praising her talents just before they saw the photo.

I think the writers are really brave for exposing shippers like this, especially when the fetishism of East Asian people is at an all-time high. Fans feels incredibly comfortable speculating about people's sexuality and writing fanfiction about them, but when an actual lgbt celebrity comes out everyone does an immediate 180° turn. Some people still don't understand that gay people don't exist just as entertainment, and turn violently homophobic when their delusions get exposed as exactly that. I wonder how the author will deal with such a predicament, I'm hoping that they'll be able to portray such a delicate issue appropriately
