She's his classmate, he can't just become asocial because she likes him, no ?
Since he doesn't care about her, no need to alienate her, just get along with her, but keep certain boudaries just like when he brushed her off, in case she takes liberties and becomes too annoying.

I mean it's his life, noone has to tell him how to live it I believe
