Nursing homes cost money. And if her mother cant handle her, the poor staff would go insane in a less than week.

@faggotweebshitlates - You really should just buy the official English books (https://kodanshacomics.com/series/aho-girl/). And if you really can't get yourself < $15 for a book, then check if your Library has it. Or check if any of your nearby bookstores (like Barnes and Nobles) have it. The last volume is coming out in about 15 days too.

As a matter of fact, Amazon Kindle sells each volume for relatively cheap too: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JMZP9TR/

Unless your goal is literally to shittily, and very likely improperly, scanlate this series for yourself and others to enjoy.

The ending of this series is stupid like everything else in it anyways.

@MooPoint good Moo Point (HAHA get it) I wasn't even aware of this, bad sadly it doesn't come out till the 16th. Guess this means my work is done since vol 12 will just be scanned with an actual good official translation. Time to find another abandoned series.

Philippines still have forests? Joke.

Philippines forests are small(walk straight for few hours you would see a human settlement) Once in settlement they would easily find out she is Japanese and they will call embassy. Also it is still relatively near, try the Amazon Rain Forest.

The thing about Aho Girl is you don't know if it is an April Joke or not.

Keep in mind that buying the English translation does NOT IN ANY WAY support the author. The author gets paid a flat rate by the publishing house, or maybe even through an agent that takes another cut. Any profits for selling books, or selling rites to a US publisher go to the publisher. The author sees NONE of that money.

If you want to support the author. donate to their Patreon, or if they don't have, try to convince them to get one. This is the way that artists and content creators will make their living if things keep going the way they are.

@princeofcups do you have any source stating that this is the case with all manga artists (or more specifically, this artist)? I find it hard to believe that all publishers only give an option to pay artists a flat rate rather than percentages.

@faggotweebshitlates By the way, I mentioned Library/Barnes and Nobles because you can likely very easily go into the store, grab some Manga, sit down and read for a few hours, put it back, and pay $0.

I've tried communicating with a Mangaka about oversea sales, and the one I communicated with said he does get money, but that it varies between authors. But the way I understood it was that he makes a bit more or less than if sold in Japan, per book. But if it costs you $10 to buy a Manga in America and $5 to buy the Japanese Manga... you can support the author more by just buying 2 of the Japanese Manga.

Most Japanese Authors will not setup a Patreon account. They're more likely to have a pixivFANBOX account (I don't really know why). If you really want to support the author, just buy the officially translated version, or the actual Japanese version. Moreover, suppose that a Manga is ongoing and gets an official English version. I heard that if people buy the English version, the numbers get reported to the original source for determining popularity (to axe or not to axe). Don't buy used - they don't get anything from that. I heard that certain merchandises (figurines and stuff) have to pay some commission to the author. I don't know which, though. Buying Anime DVDs/etc. do not help the author - it just increases exposure (I heard the Author just gets a one-time lump sum for buying the rights to create Anime).

@MooPoint

Good thing everyone lives where $15 for a 200 pages manga book is not a lot of money.

Or has libraries that carry obscure manga series from overseas ;d

@Abedeus it's an option for those who do. For those who don't, it's definitely a conundrum with no clear answers. You could theoretically purchase the Manga from Amazon, then refund it when you're done by saying something was wrong with it/inaccurate site description. But doing it too often can result in the closure of your Amazon account.

If you can't even do that, then I can't really think of anything else besides biting the bullet and purchasing the electronic version of the series, especially since it's usually a bit cheaper than the physical thing. Or hope that someone makes (or have already made) a tracker that shares official Manga.

The Manga Industry just sucks.
