I mean, the guy's mom died when he was a kid (and it seems like his dad isn't in the picture), his cousin mistook him for a creepy stalker, and he just had to sit there and listen to his aunt and uncle beg her to take him in, so he must feel pretty unwanted. I can understand why he lashed out at the end there.
