The art style is definitely not for me, and I found it incredibly difficult to distinguish between the characters.

That said, this is probably the single most realistic story I've ever seen depicted in manga.

Terrifyingly real. Perhaps... too real.

It's about body perception issues, it's about growing older, it's about the whims of emotions, it's about the fluidity of sexuality, it's about self-worth, and, most of all, it's about the ultimate purpose in life and the many varied paths through it.

I'm going to give it a 9/10 rating, do my best to forget everything about it, and never read it again.

Wish the art style was cleaner, maybe the story was clearer in the original language, wish the guy had gotten the curb-ing he deserved... If you especially like SOL Yuri this is NOT for you.

Would make one hell of an OVA with a few storyline tweaks though...

It's more of a coming of age story than a romance. It deals with a lot of heavy things like self-hatred, homophobia, cheating and rape. But then it gets more wholesome towards the end, especially at chapter 7. It ended at an optimistic point. 10/10, would recommend to anyone who isn't triggered by the things mentioned before.

I hate this series so much it's unreal. Solid first chapters marred by a truly horrendous finale that couldn't be more misogynistic if it tried (and was certainly homophobic enough to get some anti-brownie points there too). Avoid at all costs. If you really need something messy, read Gunjo. That's way better than this dreck.
