It seems Elda hates giving up till the end which may confirm why she treats Vera like dogshit after he pleaded for his friends' lives. Even though she's a bitch she has more depth to her than appears.
@Izurak Probably because you don't like the fact that Elda is a ruthless person? In my opinion if I were the adventurer I think I would be pretty embarrassed right around now. She may have "won" the fight. Except it was a with a Princess who had skills but no actual experience. She would have already been a corpse if the Princess had both. Plus the Princess is "arrogant" not cocky. Arrogant people can have skills. Cocky people talk a big game but can't back it up. The Princess held her own for most of the fight. It's only due to experience that she "lost". (and technically since she was totally about to pull a shield bash to the very last she wasn't quite finished off yet)
