Chapter 69 dropped.
  • Flashback in general. Misato Talks about how, in Junior High, Rika was sparkling, had many friends and was reliable. In contrast, Misato was the opposite, being gloomy and not having many friends;
  • That's why, in college, when Sousuke wasn't next to her( Misato), She( Misato) was happy to see Rika approach her;
  • They went to lectures together, went shopping on the way home together, Misato was happy. Until...
  • Rika approached Misato in a "Bar date"( Aiseki Izakaya/相席居酒屋)( It's a system where, basically, men are charged by the hour and can eat and drink as much as they want. Women are free of charge. The objective is to meet other people, really).
  • Asked her to lose the glasses. Misato said the date wasn't fun, but the drinks were;
  • Later, their parents divorced, and the sisters decided to stay with their father, though there wasn't much money;
  • Without much money, having both sisters, and tuition fees, Misato became desperate and consulted Rika;
  • The trick was an extension of the "Bar date", but pretty much acting like a hostess. Search for men, have one, entertain him, talk about a big investment, let him fall prey and and the money is yours;
  • It worked, and for a while, money wasn't an issue. Though Misato became aware of breaking other people into this scheme, and her greed started growing a little. And that was a mistake;
  • She was approached by a man, Iwabuchi, who found out about her scheme. He said he was approached by a young college student who was a victim of hers. He pressured her about how investment fraud is a crime, and wanted to go to the police about it;
  • Misato didn't want to cause a scene for her sister by being arrested. Iwabuchi asked her how she would compensate, and showed her the sum of damage she was supposed to pay, and she exclaimed it was too much, she didn't have that much money...
  • But Iwabuchi said he knew a job she could take. Pressured by the situation, and even though Rika Broke her into this scheme, but she wasn't able to tell anyone( mostly out of guilt herself), she decided to embark on this job;
  • She was blackmailed into sending a nude of herself to the victim, as compensation;
  • Turns out, it was just Iwabuchi who managed to receive the photo. He talked about how difficult would her college life be if she the photo was spread around. Misato told him that he promised to have one photo and nothing more. Is response was:
-"In this world there are 2 people. The exploiter and the subjugated. Which one is you?"
  • "In the future, i'll exploit you further. Please me be my guest.". That's when she realized how fucked she was. And then she was blackmailed even further than just a picture and pretend;
  • End of Flashback;
  • That's when she realized that sleeping with someone else's boyfriend earned her a lot of money. That why she "sells" her body;
  • Sousuke is surprised by the story, wonders who Iwabuchi might be, but asks why is he being threatened? What's to Rika in this story?
  • Misato explains that the story continues. She was trying to forget about some things and tried to go into SNS. She found out about an account which was bringing too much views and followers. That's when she saw...
  • Rika-chan's Secret account/ リカちゃんの裏 アカ.

Next chapter in 2 weeks!
The only thing that made me pause and think a little was Iwabuchi’s phrase.
A sarcastic suggestion for Misato’s choice-to be the one who exploits or to blindly obey.

From an artistic point of view, this can be interpreted in different ways.

On one hand, it’s a classic self-justification for criminal activity-“it’s not my fault, the world works this way; if I don’t do it, it will happen to me.”
And then it easily overlays onto Rika’s story, as a counterpoint to Misato life, who could not choose the path of pure evil.
The roots of this pseudo-philosophical theory could lie in the economic background of their past-an obsession solely with earning money.
Or it could be an internet trend or a common expression among scammers in the manga world.

On the other hand, it could be the author’s homage to Crime and Punishment, which of course would be unusual, but it would be amusing in the end to see.
I meant that Iwabuchi’s character could simply be stating a general point of view-that he and Rika, for some reason, realized their own exceptionalism.
The right to ruin other people’s lives for personal gain, and the impunity, only reinforced this feeling.

But, as in all stories, when a villain believes too strongly in the lie of their exceptional right to shape others’ fates, that belief shatters at the first interrogation by the investigator in the final episode.

I will go with she is working together with him or maybe at first she was forced to do that but choose to become the one who exploited others and started enjoying it and become partner with him.
Or iwabuchi could be her father or someone acquainted to her father.
Maybe Rika was sleeping with village's people and exploiting them for money and posting on her own actual account to earn money 🤑🤑🤑 and maybe women of the village found out and driven them out from the village.
Or she exploited other girls like misato to have sex with villagers or other people to earn money
That's why her home was called house of prostitutes or whores house and everyone hated her but not misato because she was sleeping with college students so they probably don't know about her much.
Remember rika's words "thanks to him looks like I can still have fun""a life without fun is meaningless"
Does it sound like someone who is forced to do this?
Yeah, also after we know Misato try to trap Sousuke by Rika order at chapter 68 before, i can see the pattern from beginning. Rika is always try to trap Sousuke from first arc, when Sousuke encounter with matsuo jin, in sport festival, in PTA trip and also now with misato. But in other hand why rika do that ? What her goal do that to Sousuke ? And in other side Sousuke always help/fix rika pions and rika plot always failure.

I think this is about an aversion to losing invested resources.

We don’t know whether Rika ever tried to influence Sousuke’s life in any way, or how exactly they were introduced to each other. At the very least, he has no friends at the beginning of the story, which leads to the bleak thought that she may have indirectly isolated him from the outside world.

Rika spent ten years building this new “life,” and after losing face, she cannot simply move toward “reconciliation” with her husband, because in that case she would never have peace. At the very least, the years of her life that she invested need to be compensated. But let’s be honest: Sousuke doesn’t have that kind of money, so he will never be able to atone for the “guilt” that Rika places on him.

There can no longer be any talk of blind trust on Sousuke’s side. Sooner or later he would learn everything else if their family life were to resume. That means she has to act preemptively.

On the other hand, Rika’s plan-to hire Misato to blackmail Sousuke-looks insufficient. Even if it were successful, it would not provide an absolute guarantee of control over Sousuke. For this reason, I believe the plan consisted of two parts:

  1. Misato
  2. Akiba - I assume that an attack would also be carried out against her in order to put pressure on Sousuke.
Overall, that’s how I see it. I think the plan was aimed at achieving absolute domination over Sousuke through compromising material and blackmail with threats: isolating him from any third parties, breaking his will, and permanently binding him to the children he had with Rika.

What do you think about rika after this chapter bro ? Is rika one of victims like misato. Or rika work together with iwabuchi ?
She could've been a victim somewhere in her life, but now she's definetly an exploiter. The way she approached Matsuo Jin with the promise of the money, Shingo with the idea of Momonga, and Misato with investment fraud, she definetly is not a victim of sorts anymore. How much closer she's to Iwabuchi, their relationship itself, remains to be seen...

One of the things to keep in mind is also the year in which the story takes place. The age of the cast .The main cast were all born in the 90s, they're children from the Japan post-economic bubble era( in a comparison, just like Light, Misa and Mikami from Death Note). Also remember de Sarin Gas attacks from the "Aum Shinrikyo", and said group presence at the time.

The main point is, while it shouldn't be considered for all accounts( like Sousuke, for all his naivety, Shiratori and Mitsuri), the perception of money, lifestyle, the social and economic pressure does vary drastically between said group. The idea to study hard and become adequate members of society, prioritizing work over fun, is somewhat like a scar implanted on them, at different levels, but surely they exist.

Rika's base may be there as well, as it probably affected her more. Misato only felt it during her college years and after her parents divorce. Sousuke never really felt, or cared, about it, so his naivety is justifiable as someone without struggles.

I used Death Note characters as example because of the disparity between their backgrounds and what they believed and followed. Drastic, but not unthinkable. Considering the dealings of real estate speculators during the bubble period( like Freeza, who was based on them somewhat), people going after cons( like Iwabuchi), are a given, as it's easy money that surpasses the need to dedicate oneself severely to achieve it.

Your answer always good and made me mindblowing. The author of this series really so smart, the author could open probability of good or evil but in the same time the author close it. We can think rika is not evil from how she is in the family also her acquintance always said to sousuke "do you really think rika would do that ?" But in another scene author give us how look evil is rika also the same time author gave us some way rika wouldn't do that of her will, like that. I just hope this series give us satisfy ending. Don't be like manga Shounen no abyss until the end the problem not really clear and mc mother still sh*tt

After happening bar arc and TPA trip arc, i already think rika is absolutelly cheated, also sousuke has admit it when he stood front door room rika and mori at happening bar he said he still think that not rika but after hear what rika said, he accept if that woman on video is rika. So main goal Sousuke seeking evidance is to make rika admit her cheated her reason

A bunch of questions arise because of the information in chapter 70. If Iwabuchi is Rika's lover, then why does she need Shingo? Rika hasn't had her "secret account" since she married Soska, why? Maybe Rika was hiding from Iwabuchi, why and why? Is Misato lying?

Chapter 70 dropped. Oh boy, did the truth appear!
  • Misato found Rika's secret account. However, it wasn't about sex;
  • Rika was engaged to Iwabuchi. For 2 years. The photo even showed her ring to public;
  • Sousuke becomes shocked, especially because she( Rika) was a college student at the time;
  • Misato reaffirms that Iwabuchi was in love with her( Rika). That's also why it was impossible to escape from Rika, as long as she( Misato) was in college[I think i missed that translation in this part];
  • Sousuke's thoughts are a mess. He did not know she was previously engaged, and that the engagement was( probably) broken off before their marriage;
  • Misato continues by pointing out they were together since the beginning, and that Rika was probably just using her( Misato) from the start;
  • Misato confronted her, and asked what was the meaning of that, as she( Misato) thought they were friends;
  • Admitting that what Misato said was right, Rika simply smiled coldly at her( the same smile she gave Sousuke when showing the Ultrasound for the baby);
  • Knowing that, if the photo was scattered, Misato's life would be over, from then on, she knew she couldn't turn her back on Rika( as Rika had many followers, that wouldn't be difficult to spread);
  • Although no more prostitution jobs appeared from Iwabuchi, Rika asked Misato for a job at a way later date: To lure Sousuke, record a sex video with him and send it to her( Rika) later;
  • Sousuke's thought concentrate on some stances: 1 - Rika's intentions were made clear. She honeytrapped Sousuke; 2 - Given Shingo's testimony( yes, it was addressed as such), there is no denial the affair happened; 3 - Rika gave instructions to Misato to "perform" adultery on Sousuke;
  • Still unable to believe everything, Sousuke cannot believe Rika took advantage of Misato for that. He does not know how far has she( Rika) fallen, and that her once gentle smile is now shifting into one of a villain in his mind;
  • Still, they( Rika and Sousuke) stayed 8 years together. Sousuke is ready to face Rika, but is hit with strange feelings about the ordeal;
  • Misato resumes by saying it's still strange: if Iwabuchi and Rika are still engaged, or related, why did she marry Sousuke?
  • Sousuke says it's not weird to change like that, as this info was on Rika's secret account, and as Misato says, it's not been updated for years;
  • Misato says she still doesn't know Rika's feelings or intentions, but once heard a truth from her;
  • When confronting Rika about the secret account and why was she with Iwabuchi, Rika answered, smiling: "It's love, love";
  • Rika resumes to tell that Iwabuchi completes her, and that's why she loves him. He makes her life less boring;
  • Rika's expression changes to one we haven't seen before. It's not the kind, gentle or sultry smiles she showed Sousuke. It's not the sadistic smile she showed Shiratori at the bar. It's not the cold smile she showed Misato earlier or Sousuke( during the baby trap). It's a face of emotionless lunacy with a forced smile, typical of psychopaths;
  • As she shows said face, she tells Misato that, for once in her boring life, she wants the experience the greatest love;
  • Misato resumes her story by saying she said to herself that now she was a whore. To fit herself as one. However, in the end, it was a lie to herself;
  • Sousuke's thoughts go again to not understanding it all. Rika put Misato in a collision course with Iwabuchi, an act that is hated by people. Later she married Sousuke, honeytrapped him, and had an affair, another act that is deemed as hateful. What Rika is doing is the complete opposite of being loved. He wonders if there's still a missing piece of the puzzle. He wants to meet her to clear this fog in his head;
  • The chapter ends with Misato's phone ringing, and she asking Sousuke what to do, as the caller is shown to be "Miyase Rika".

Still didn't clear why her house is called whore's house
Here Greatest love probably means sousuke still loving her even after doing all that shit and letting her do that
In previous chapter misato said she was looking how to get famous in sns and she heard that an account is getting pretty famous in sns which turns out to be is rika's secret account.
But my question is why the hell are they getting famous for ?
No one gets famous from engagement pics

Psychopaths do not enjoy things the same way other people do. Because of the lack of emotional attachment, they do not retain enjoyment for long periods of time. That's why they're in a constant "feeling" of boredom.

Sex also is not the same, it's mainly function is just to win something, or ascertain dominance.

When she says "Greatest/Ultimate Love"( 最強の愛) probably means that she wants to fill something so strong, so lasting, that it fulfills her continuously.

My belief is that she derives enjoyment by making these cons and seeing people get stuck in her traps. Iwabuchi helped her during college years, but fullfiled this role to her. Sousuke was a possible door to the PTA(as well as clean her image) another target where she could still have more fun by luring and reeling other people.

Shingo is a bussiness strategy to earn money, but also, someone who she could trap later on, just like she did with Misato. Sex with him is not about feeling good by the deed, but rather she ascertaining dominance in their joint venture. There's also the possibility that, having Sousuke learn of her affair is enjoyable to her( just like trapping Misato).

Either she ended her "cicle" with Iwabuchi, and/or wanted to clear her image. That account happened during her college years( the 4 year gap in her life Sousuke knew nothing about), it's left ambiguous to let us foster theories as is.

An interesting point, however, is that:
  • Her secret account with Iwabuchi showed her face;
  • Her main account with Sousuke and Shiho, didn't. She could use Shiho as an excuse, but the timing was too good;
