Hello everyone. As the UROD-PC has already described that there is "Mr. X", and it is he who is behind all this. Singo doesn't look like Rika's lover at all, he's just a man who can be blamed. Before meeting Rika, he was broken, which made it easy to manipulate him, which is what Rika did. In Singo's memories, we saw that Rika offered him to create a "secret account" and that the videos with Rika were very popular. The author didn't even show for us that they had sex, and his testimony is an ordinary lie, which we didn't even see (which is very interesting and raises doubts). My opinion is that Rika just gave a video for Singo to publish them. The video of Singo and Rika from the sd-card was specially filmed for Soska, so that he would think that it was Singo who was the lover. The reason for Rika's escape was that Soske did not come up against everything, but caught and started interrogating Shingo. Rika realised that her plan had failed, as Shingo would tell everything and she decided to escape.

The roles of Misato and Iwabuchi. As mentioned earlier, Misato was supposed to provoke Soska to cheat and shoot a video. Besides, if the plan fails, she had to give false information who is the real lover. With which she coped well and now Sosuke started hunting for Iwabuchi. Iwabuchi should play the same role as Shingo, the role of a lover. But the only difference between them is that it is more powerful and it is "impossible" to outplay him, because influential people are behind him. That's why Rika needed an invitation to the party. Iwabuchi realises perfectly well what role he plays, that's why his discontent was shown during a conversation with Rika in the car.

So who is Rika, besides being one of the "Heavenly Kings"? As Iwabuchi said, she is the "main breadwinner", but judging by her earnings from the Mamong channel, the difference with other Kings is not that big. Then why is she treated like this? It seems to me that this is due to money laundering not only for Iwabuchi, but also for other owners of "secret accounts". Rika is a mediator between Iwabuchi and "Mr. X". You will ask why money laundering? As we remember, the first thing Rika advised for Misato during his student years was financial fraud.

So who is "Mr. X"? First of all, it is a person who is connected to the school or the parent committee. Secondly, he should be shown as a diligent parent and family man. Thirdly, it must be related to finances. Banker Kamizaki is perfect for this role.
This is an interesting take. Misato does not even need to be told to lie, just believing it was Iwabuchi would led to her telling Sousuke anyway. Also, invest fraud is not directly tied to money laundring, so Misato's example doesn't count...but it describes a good possibility between Rika and Iwabuchi's overall businesses. Kamizaki also being Mr.X is good on this theory and may fit in all scenarios.
  • Knowing Rika does not entitle him to know Shiratori, so falling on his scheme is a possibility;
  • He knew about Shiratori and let himself fall in order to dodge the bullet from Sousuke.

And the best part is that, Mr.X himself may be, together with Iwabuchi, the main villains of the story. It does not change the fact that Rika is the main antagonist, and all the plot is about her plan for ultimate love.

You've already described a similar situation to make Kamizaki's wife feel guilty. Kamizake did it with his wife on purpose, he had to tie her to himself, so that later, if Kamizake cheated, she would blame herself.

And before the release of the new chapter, I’d like to share my thoughts regarding Iwabuchi’s “secret.”

Overall, it seems to me that the story is shaping up in a way that invites comparisons to the scandal in Neon Tokyo.

Basically, I can’t find a single realistic reason why the protagonist alone could pose a threat to the “King of the Night City” while still remaining alive. Any genuine source of Iwabuchi’s downfall would more likely come from the participants of the event themselves:

  1. The influential guests attending the party and their need for confidentiality. If that confidentiality were somehow violated and the blame could be pinned directly on Iwabuchi, it would seriously damage the villain’s position.
  2. Another idea that amused me at one point was that Rika and Iwabuchi are not actually holding the police or the city “hostage.” A far more realistic scenario would be that they have mutually beneficial relationships with law enforcement officials and high-ranking government figures.
In other words, the “King of the Night City” provides compromising information on high-profile clients and, more generally, supplies intelligence about the situation within the Night City. In exchange, Iwabuchi receives greater freedom of action and protection from criminal prosecution.

If this arrangement were exposed along with solid evidence, it would certainly make life much more “interesting and exciting” for both Rika and Iwabuchi.

In my opinion, this plot development would be far more interesting and realistic than the direction the author seems to be taking.

What feels more consistent with the current trajectory of the story is a scenario involving the shattered expectations of the fans of those secret streamer channels.

It could be revealed that no actual celebrities attend the event at all, and that even the so-called Three Kings are merely ordinary employees working in Iwabuchi’s brothels. In essence, everyone has been deceived.

Their idols are not unique “gods” but simply prostitutes with excellent PR managers.

A couple more thoughts regarding Chapter 84:

  1. The artist has once again forgotten the mole on Rika’s face. At this point, I think he deserves a medal for this remarkable achievement!
  2. The missing tattoo on the King's navel makes me feel that my theory about the guests being deceived is gaining more credibility.
What if the tattoo wasn't removed at all? What if these are simply different actresses?

That would fit quite well with the idea that the guests are being misled. The supposedly legendary and exclusive figures could actually be interchangeable performers playing carefully crafted roles. In that case, the entire mystique surrounding the "Kings" would be nothing more than a marketing strategy designed to maintain the illusion of uniqueness and prestige.

Chapter 84 dropped. She's here...( as always, sorry for any translations issues)
  • The chapter starts in one of the hotel rooms. Iwabuchi offers Rika a non alcoholic cocktail. Her favorite, red like blood. She's lying sideways, looking at a notebook, and thanks "Iwabuchi-san" for it. The notebook screens shows Sousuke in the party. Iwabuchi asks her about him, and she says it's fun;
  • Iwabuchi proceeds to say that Sousuke is being played with. If this keeps up, he will soon have sex and won't be able to stop. And then proceeds to ask if it isn't true that turning that man into her toy is her plan. She gives a faint smile and asks him to take it easy there. Iwabuchi proceeds to leave, saying he's ready to go and shatter Sousuke's heart. He leaves the room, saying that it's going to be much fun to see the moment where her husband breaks his heart;
  • While in the room, alone, Rika frowns a little, asking what Sousuke is plotting. But then smiles again and says that, no matter what he does, the outcome will be the same;
  • Back at the party, a man is surprised that a single man defeated 3 of the 4 heavenly kings of Ura aka, and got them stripped naked. After the 3 talk about the humiliation of losing, Sousuke asks them to fully strips. They do. None of the 3 have snake tatoos in their bellies;
  • Having checked all the bellies of the girls in the room, Sousuke gets angry that Shuri wasn't there to begin with. Not only did the chance to catch Iwabuchi's secret wasn't available in this venue, he wasted time while searching for her. He then proceeds to rescue Misato;
  • Maruppi gets angry that he's leaving after she showed her bellybutton to him. She asks if his fetish is Netorare, why didn't he get hard. He answers that he has no obligation of answering her, and that he's not interested in belly buttons. He proceeds to yell to discard the bellybuttons altogether;
  • He turns his back and wonders where Misato is and hopes she's safe. Passing by a couple having sex, the man says it's amazing that he 4 heavenly kings stripped of their own accord, but found it strange when looking at their stomachs, as one of them had their weird tatoo removed. Sousuke quickly goes to him and asks to repeat what he said, as he'd like to listen to it. However, he wonders if it's the time to stop and listen, with Misato in danger;
  • In a flashback, Misato says that, although there're dangers and enemies there, she's helping him, so to not waste his chance to try and help her, as she's fighting as well. She asks him to trust her. Sousuke calms himself, and stays to listen to the story;
  • Back at Misato, stripped and tied to the bed, the man says she's resisting too much. Letting a girl who won't have sex in his room is a waste of time. She says she's sorry, but she can't do it. She reveals that she's not an ura aka streamer, and lie about saying she just wanted to go into a fancy room at least once;
  • In her thoughts, she says she's a whore. By Iwabuchi's orders, she kept pleasing men, so, if necessary, she prepares her body for these cases. She didn't care about her body, but kept her mind/sanity by believing in those things. However, after reuniting with Sousuke, her feelings have changed. She started wanting to cherish herself more. She doesn't want to sell herself so cheaply anymore;
  • She asks the man release her, as she changed her mind about the ordeal. No matter how much he tries, she will resist him. The man says that, as she's not a streamer, they can't have sex. However, he shows a suitcase to her;
  • The chapter ends with the suitcase open, showing some sex toys. He says that, as they can't have sex, he will use this collection instead. He always wanted to make an actress use a special vibrator that's there, so he will prepare Misato for her Ura aka debut.

Seeing how those close-ups focus on the exact spot where Rika's mole is supposed to be, and how it happens across multiple panels in this chapter. I doubt there it's an error. Maybe the author is hinting at something from this.

I can't think of any reason why Rika would remove the mole on her face.

The only explanation I can come up with is that she wants to change her appearance in the end and started by removing the moles from her body.

But honestly, that would still be strange either way.

Especially considering that during the scenes in the car with Iwabuchi, Rika's facial mole was still there.

And also, if you notice, Rika's blank dialogue bubble (...) points exactly to where her mole should be. So it is quite convincing that this omission seems intentional.

I've been quite busy lately, so I haven't had the headspace to think about the theories and reasons behind it. 😅

However, if it really is a mole, I think it would be quite difficult to erase it if it was there from the beginning. It would be much easier if it was never there to begin with, meaning the mole we knew as Rika's all this time was actually fake. Then again, the body double theory had chance turn out to be valid. Because also, In this chapter, one of the streamers mentioned that the girl with the stomach tattoo had it removed, and she spoke with reference to the 4 Heavenly Kings, so there is at least a chance that it was "Rika" (if theory body double valid) who had the stomach tattoo.

Furthermore, the conversation between Iwabuchi and Rika in the early chapters brings me back to a question. For what reason does "Rika" want to bring down Sousuke? If it were Iwabuchi, I think it would make sense because, from Iwabuchi's POV, Sousuke stole his fiancée. But what about "Rika"? Is it because Sousuke ruined her business (the secret account)?

I understand what you're getting at, but in my opinion, it's highly unlikely.

1) The issue with Rika's "moles"

The whole story about Rika's moles is very old. The mistakes first appeared in the earliest volumes, when the artist forgot the mole on the inner side of Rika's shoulder.

A particularly telling example is the marital sex scene between Sousuke and Rika. In the digital version, the mole was missing, while in the printed version the artist corrected the mistake. Because of that, I would caution against trying to find "visual" clues.

I'll repeat myself: the visual side of this manga is even sloppier than the writing.

The artist forgets things such as hairstyles, phone models, and so on within the span of a single page. You can simply go back one chapter and look at how Misato is tied to the bed—she's bound with ropes in one panel, and then restrained with a completely different type of handcuff in another.

Moreover, in the current volume the author isn't even trying to hide it anymore. All background characters are obvious 3D models with no attempt whatsoever to disguise or process them. It even feels like the rendering perspective breaks down in some places, and the characters' proportions often look unrealistic.

2) Regarding the motives and meaning behind the "intrigue"

I don't think we'll be given a concrete, material reason for the villains' actions.

Here's another theory from me.

Let's skip the beginning of the manga.

After escaping, Rika Miyase realizes that for the first time in her life she is experiencing genuine human emotions and affection toward another person—Sousuke. These feelings are further intensified by the child they share growing inside her.

However, her twisted nature screams that she cannot pass up the one and only opportunity to experience what it feels like to be the "cheated spouse." In other words, she wants to experience the pain of losing a partner and witness it with her own eyes, because under any other circumstances such an experience would be impossible for her.

That is why she wants to push the protagonist toward infidelity and record it on video—not simply for blackmail material.

This is what misleads everyone.

However, the protagonist's irrational actions and his refusal to have sex only make her even more obsessed with him. As a result, Rika decides that she must fully ignite the flames of hatred and passion within Sousuke's heart. Only then, she believes, will he be able to descend into a life of debauchery.

By seeing that transformation in his eyes, Rika hopes to fulfill her dream—to become a cuckold.

To summarize: Rika's dream is born during the course of the story itself. "Love" combined with her "rotten nature" results in Rika Miyase developing a desire to watch her husband cheat on her right before her eyes.

In my opinion, this fits very well with the manga's central theme: the characters' misconceptions and delusions.

As we can see, Iwabuchi appears to take Rika's actions at face value. Perhaps this is because he himself was once in Sousuke's position, and Rika broke him and turned him into her loyal dog.

In the end, however, he too will lose precisely because he is mistaken.

According to Iwabuchi, the main goal is to "force" Sosuke to have sex with someone, which will become incriminating evidence. Then Iwabuchi asks Rika if she wants to make Sosuke into a toy. Rika doesn't answer. I think Iwabuchi is mistaken, because Rika has a different goal.What Rika's true goal is remains unclear.
In reality, Rika's goal could be anything:
1. To experience what it's like to be cheated on.
2. To make Sousuke feel guilty.
3. To teach Sousuke how to have good sex.
4. To make Sousuke a star of "secret accounts," something like "from cuckold to alpha male."
But one thing is clear, Rika's and Iwabuchi's goals are different.

We can see from the very beginning that Rika is not interested in Iwabuchi at all, she doesn't even turn towards him, while Iwabuchi grovels before her and tries to please her in any way. This is also evident in the way they call each other (Iwabuchi-san, Rika (without suffix)). Rika tries to keep Iwabuchi at a distance, while he wants to be closer.

And finally, Rika is confident she'll achieve her goal, whether the party plan fails or not. I think she has a trump card she's been hiding for later.

The idea that Rika wanted to be cheated on is not new, but i believe, at least to me, it gained some weight in the last chapter. When Iwabuchi said "once he starts having sex, he won't stop", it hit me with the potential that he meant it even outside the Orgia party. With that in mind, i started conjecturing on this theory again, but with the addition of this new idea.

It could only mean that Rika's plan of "breaking Sousuke" wasn't for him to fall by his own logic of "cheaters must be punished". It meant that Rika, somewhat, knows him well enough to understand the hidden hypocrisy he carries under his "virtue". The potential to become a "serial cheater". But that wouldn't make much sense, as these type of cheaters are narcisists by nature and somehow manage to put down the cheated one, usually by self-esteem. That is, unless Rika has a so twisted sense of love, that she wants to trap him in a relationship by using their children, sustaining a sort of abuse from him, as long as she can retain him. But this can only work with 2 main rules aplied.

1 - Sousuke cannot have an emotional affair. Doing so could lead him to abandon his family;
2 - It must be under a controlled environment. As shown with Akiba, Rika must be aware of who he cheats her with.

The fun part is that we somehow got something similar with Shiratori and Shingo earlier on( men who cheats more than once to nurture their ego), but were defeatd soundly, and trapped by the cheated person. Sousuke would be the opposite, being forced to cheat by the person he loves.
The karmic irony, however, is already a given. Sousuke has fallen in love with Someone else. And even in a scenario where Akiba is actually an agent from Rika( by blackmail or any other threat), Sousuke still has Misato somewhat coveting him. He does have some way outs.

As for Rika's trumph card: we'll just have to wait and see. Considering the entire absurd that was the SD card scenario, maybe the plan she had for Misato( drugging Sousuke and making him have sex), was already executed by someone else, and Misato was just a further guarantee that Sousuke could perform again?
By this "someone else", maybe Shuri? It's not impossible for Rika to have drugged Sousuke at home and ask Shuri to come over and do the deed, being blackmailed and such for finding out Iwabuchi's secret.

I know it's an absurdity from me but, taking some of Mukola9191's pages in theory making:

The timeline is quite interesting. Shuri disappeared around 6 months before the time Akito talked about. The "time" being around November, as per chapter 72( i'd say 2025, but that's kinda weak backed with what we have). If so, Shuri disappeared around may( 5th month). Considering some timely moments we already discussed about:
  • In the spam of 3 months, she'd be properly broken, trained and blackmailed by Iwabuchi into doing whatever he wanted;
  • August( 8th month) cames;
  • Rika would try to get her pregnant from Sousuke by using the same scheme Misato did: drug him and make him have unconscious intercourse;
  • It seems barbaric, but as Shuri is the one who hit Iwabuchi the closest to his weakness, he does not care;
  • Rika's baby could be from anyone, including Sousuke. The point is that Shuri would've a "physical evidence" of the deed;
  • October( 10th month) comes. Rika shows an ultrasound of a 2+ months old fetus. She tells it's hers, but it's Shuri's;
  • Misato's recording could've been also to, if needed, be an evidence that Sousuke could do it how many times she( Rika) wanted, and with whoever she wanted as well;
  • Regardless of Sousuke's actions, Rika could prove that he unconsciously cheated and was responsible for the baby. A critical part of her plan is to prove that he can do it consciously too. This is just dry straw to ignite his cheating flame;
  • Knowing he has a kid from both sides now, the plan is to steadily bring Shuri's kid into the Yamada family. To become a disfunctional, yet seemingly united, lovable family;
  • Sousuke would become dissatisfied with the arrangements, and proceeds to cheat further. Rika would tie him with the kids. The most broken family ever, but one that she feels is "truer" than the one she had before, and would give him a hall pass to cheat how many times he wanted;
  • At least, that's part of how Rika saw what would be "true love".

The scheme itself is extremely complex and, in a way, represents the ultimate weapon in Riki's hands-if she managed to pull it off.

However, there is no effective countermeasure available to Sousuke against such a weapon except for one.

Only a single possibility could save him while simultaneously shattering his heart completely...

Before the "orgy," Sousuke underwent a comprehensive examination of his reproductive system and received the following result:

Sousuke Yamada was completely infertile-absolutely sterile from birth due to a hereditary anomaly.

But then, why would Rika use birth control pills? Unless...Sousuke didn't know about this as being a status quo, and thought more of as a possibility...which would bring Rika to have children for him to father under the assumption that he COULD have children...

But Shiho looks so much like him and Rika, how is that- and then, as in some of the most common NTR tropes ever, we find out that Shiho is actually his sister, with his father being the one pass on his superior genes, mixing them with Rika, discarding his failure of a son who couldn't even produce an heir for the Yamada family...

I think the plot's being lost in all this theorycrafting.

Honestly, I expect the final reveal to be tragically mundane for how convoluted it's all been up to now:

Rika had a fucked up upbringing (the Whore House) that has given her some extreme kinks, but has found a loving and committed marriage partner in Sousuke. But she needs to indulge her fetishes--but, Sousuke is too rigid and pure for her to do so openly with his blessing.

So she decides to "make him fall", so she can break him and reshape him into the sort of man who would let her have sex with others to satisfy her urges, but still be a loving husband and giving her a "happy family life".

So she has someone clue-in Sousuke to Momonga, setting the stage, and then orchestrates a string of events and encounters to slowly shatter Sousuke's worldview and rigidity and mold him into the sort of person who could embrace Rika's wild side. Having him cheat with Misato or whomever else isn't even for blackmail; just to ignite the sensation and thrill of NTR in his mind, opening him up to that world as an active participant.

Rika wants Sousuke at her side, but on her terms where she is free to do what she likes while still keeping her family and perfect home image. "having her cake and eating it too", type thing.

The problem, is she didn't account for Akiba, or just how rigid Sousuke could be with his priprinciples and ideals. and things spiraled out of control and parts of her business ventures have been compromised, and all her work risks coming undone. But she has contingency plans, and now she's falling back on her Ex, Iwabuchi, to try and break Sousuke for good--using her Ex's persisting love for her as leverage to get him to work with her on this.

But because Sousuke has Akiba and has retained his personal moral compass, he is now at risk of falling out of love with Rika, making him resistant to her efforts to corrupt him. And this "showdown" at the Orgia Party is part of her final gambit to mindbreak Sousuke before he slips out of her reach for good, getting him to cheat, realize the thrill, and then Rika will get him to accept her and this situation and they can be a family that indulges in all the wildness involved.

And it'll come down to whether she succeeds and creates an NTR-loving Sousuke who is fine with swinging and cuckolding and adultery while still living together with Rika and Shiho and their new child (that will be Sousuke's, to prove Rika does care about him and loves him and puts him "first" even as she sleeps around to satisfy her kinks), or Sousuke fully breaks from his emotional bond with Rika, falls out of love with her, and thus renounces her kinks(read: her person/identity/ego), and goes his own way.

Rika does love Sousuke, and loves that he worships her and is so committed and good to their daughter. But she wants her wild sex stuff as well, and to not have to hide it from him.

And this whole story has been a battle between her efforts to "remake" Sousuke in her image, and Sousuke rejecting that part of Rika and retaining his sense of self and his personal morality. It's a battle for Sousuke's soul, and whether his love for Rika is worth losing it.

The chronology of past events in this manga is presented to us in a very fragmented way. A key moment in the formation of any romantic couple-not just a family-is intentionally excluded from the story.

1) It was stated that they met again about 8 years ago, possibly even earlier, with the help of some "acquaintances," when they were already working adults.

However, the exact circumstances of that reunion have never been specified. As we can see, the author may even change their own established "rules" during serialization.

It is possible that Rika was already pregnant at the time of their reunion shortly before marriage, and that Shiho is not actually his biological child.
This assumes that Rika only discovered she was pregnant after her first night with Sousuke.

However, even if Rika herself is convinced that Sousuke is the child's father, there would still be no guarantee that this is actually the case if she had unprotected sex with another man shortly before their encounter.

Especially if only a few days-or even a matter of hours-separated Rika's sexual encounters with Sousuke and a hypothetical "Mr. X."

Under such circumstances, determining paternity based solely on timing would be unreliable, and Rika's personal belief would not necessarily prove that Sousuke is the biological father.

There is also no reason to assume that Sousuke's use of contraception and other precautions is solely a responsible approach in Japan's current economic situation, where raising a second child can be quite difficult. It could just as well be part of Rika's own policy.

Rika herself may have insisted after the birth of their child that every possible measure be taken to prevent a second pregnancy.

It is also possible that pregnancy itself has a specific effect on Rika Miyase's mental state, interfering with her ability to carry out her criminal activities properly-perhaps even acting as a trigger for her split personality.

2) At the very beginning of the manga, there is a photograph on the protagonist's desk showing:

  • Rika and Sousuke
  • As well as several other "close" individuals
Notably, Rika's hair is clearly longer than it was during her school years.

Who are these other people?

Why have they been completely excluded from the story, even though there is a high probability that they were involved in the circumstances surrounding Rika and Sousuke's reunion?

You are absolutely right.

I've probably read just about every work in the NTR genre, and I agree that the story will most likely follow exactly the scenario you described-the most clichéd and predictable one.

However, anticipation of the ending and the mystery surrounding it are essentially all that works like this have to offer. As the saying goes, "hope dies last"-the hope that there might be at least a small amount of originality or an interesting twist in the final resolution.

That said, this manga is, at its core, a rather shameless and blatant example of a "cash cow."

It only became even moderately popular due to the genre's temporary surge in popularity, and the author appears to be dragging out the story in an extremely obvious and unapologetic manner. They rely on cliffhangers, misdirection, and deliberate attempts to confuse the reader for one reason alone: to keep the series running as long as possible and squeeze every last cent out of it.

Don't mind too much about some absurd conjectures we do. Is mainly for fun, but helps bring out some points and nitpicks here and there. Ever since the whole SD-card scenario, sometimes we go with those wild theories, as we cannot expect much "logic" in some stances of this manga anymore( like, Sousuke going to Rika's house without thinking of a backup plan, or into the Orgia party without knowing what an orgy was). Things like "Who's Misato?", "Who's Iwabuchi?" or "is the guy in pink more relevant than a minor plot device?" may appear here and there to fuel those.

For instance, "are Kanebayashi and Maruppi the same person? If so, that'd help explain how Iwabuchi always avoid lawsuits and prison time. Is she being blackmailed, like Shuri and Misato? If so, why does Rika seems to have a different approach from Iwabuchi? Just because she wins more money for him? What are their ties that make him treat her differently?". The thoughts jusk keep piling up.

As for the story, there's not much to go, as of now.
  • Find out Shuri, and learn about Iwabuchi's secret;
  • Take down Iwabuchi;
  • Find what ties him to Rika;
  • Find out more about Rika's past and upbringing;
  • Figure out what is her "ultimate/true love plan";
  • Confront Rika.

Personally, while i kid with the idea she had an affair with Sousuke's father, i do not discard that Iwabuchi is her biggest card, but not her last, or best one. A despair tactic would be to blackmail/trap Sousuke's family as well, ensure that he has no way out of her, regardless of how he wishes to proceed.

Hello everyone. I'd like to hear your predictions for the next chapter. My prediction is:
1. Soske will find out who had the tattoo.
2. Misato's rescue by Soske's team. It's possible to happen behind the scenes.
3. The appearance of Iwabuchi. The beginning of the realisation of the heartbreaking plan.
