This is what happens when I tell myself "Don't read old shoujo manga, they always go for bittersweet endings" then don't listen to myself. Fuck you mangaka. You managed to ruin my day in 3 fucking pages.

But what a good manga, I loved anime and the manga was the best I saw, at least in the theme of a new father or single, but WOW! I JUST NEEDED A FEW PAGES FOR MY EXPERIENCE TO BE RUINED.
Everything was wonderful, except for something called "Chapter 33-Final", from my point of view Yuzu's mother should claim her, but not like this, after the scene in which Kippei's mother tells her to go and come back When his cowardice is better justified, he would have given for a new story arc, to make him feel sorry and emphasize with the life that the mother had when she was far away, her point of view and everything, in order to feel an anguish when finally Yuzu leaves and everything is more emotional and painfully happy, then another story arc of how Kippei and Yuzu cope with their separate lives despite the fact that they are still in contact in letters and sometimes in visits, more of the relationship of Kippei and Kokoro, of the love life of Kippei's sister and she finds someone who loves her despite not being able to give her children, after seeing Yuzu's days and how she grows up, and all that at the end, we see the double wedding of Kippei and her sister, after all that event we see that Yuzu receives Kippei d e emotional way and there everything ends in a correct and magnificent way.
What the current ending left me is, all rushed, we didn't have time to empathize with Yuzu's mother and we were left with the fact that she is the villain of the manga, they left us with the feeling that all the time of Yuzu and Kippei it went to the trash, even if she mentions it in the letters, it feels empty and unemotional, it was a very bittersweet ending and not a more moving and emotional one, it could well reach 100 chapters, whether due to illness or greater causes a shame but hey, it is what there is, perfect example, of, no matter how good the work is, whether anime or manga, if the ending sucks, everything falls apart.

Hmmm. I don't hate it as much as the other commenters, but I do wish we could see more. I wanna see the angst of Kippei fam letting Yuzu go, Yuzu coming to terms with what all of this means, Miyako truly redeeming herself etc. Mid ending, great overall story.

The issue with the ending is that the story doesn’t give me a reason to believe her mom will do a better job. I don’t trust her. She says she is getting her act together but you know the saying, “show, don’t tell”.

Wow, yeah it's rushed but I didn't have nearly the same bad reaction as everyone else. I loved this manga, it's one of my favorites. Short and every chapter is enjoyable, I never got bored once. Every character is great. I wish there were more mangas like it.

Phew, what a manga, I really loved it. That being said, it's so obvious that there were some circumstances that made the author have to rush the ending. This was not even close to a satisfying ending. The manga in it's entirety was really great though, I've not seen a more wholesome relationship in any manga than Yuzu and Kippei's. Kippei really is one of my favorite main characters ever, he's just such a sweetie pie, cheery and immature in daily life, but serious and mature when it really counts. I really wish this could have gotten a few more chapters to truly resolve the conflict between Yuzu and her mom, to let Yuzu and Kippei have a more fulfilling goodbye, and to show how Kippei handles being separated from Yuzu. I also wouldn't have minded seeing how their relationship continued even when they were living apart, because there is no way they just cut off all contact, right? That would be really tragic.

Overall, peak wholesomeness, peak characters, peak relationships, peak drama and drama resolutions, but the ending was way too rushed. 9/10 at least, the ending is the only thing holding it back.

Edit: Damn bro, even if it was rushed, rereading the ending still got me crying. For how little there is and how rushed it is, they still did a decent job with what little material there is.
