Shizuku is dying, isn’t she? She always had a crush on Riku, but Takt confessed to her first and, to not create any issues between the friends, she ended up going out with Takt. Takt also has something for Riku, so he keeps trying to keep anyone from getting closer to Riku.

Thing is, Shizuku is dying/moving away/vanishing out of thin air and now is hellbent on being with Riku, but Takt knows something and is using this info to keep her at bay. Either that, or she’s with Takt for some family reason (Takt family is loaded and controlling) and after graduating they will move away and break contact with Riku.

Or the story is shite and nothing makes sense, with stuff hacked together just to create some suspense.

u want to make a story about a gf cheating on his bf for his best friend? aight go ahead, sounds interesting but now there are just so many fucking variables that's been introduced its become an actual mess, execution was poor and story has just been going downhill for a long time, possibly since the beginning, nothing interesting is happening, and this doesnt count, its a forced event thats just there to make sure the story goes a specific path, its not natural, its weird, like many other events that happened beforehand

i can predict that he's going to fall into water, get sick, will have to spend the night at the nearest hotel, and shizuku here will try to do funny things while he's weak, and cucked dude over at the other hotel with kouhai will be awake, notice that they're both gone, help the drama along, and that'll be it

its become so boring and predictable its actually mindnumbing, dont catch me reading this again, now let me read actual masterpieces like boku no pico or yosuga no sora

In early chapters when MC got sick, there is quite a heavy hint with how panels are drawn and stuff that suggest that the only person who could have kissed MC on his lips was Takt.

Takt also hinted that he has some kind of jealousy/complex towards MC when they were playing hide & seek in the forest.

He also talked with kouhai girl that they both are similar in that they are looking to replace their initial love interests or something, cause she was basically interested in MC, but all MC was doing around her was basically gay to the wall praising Takt - how awesome of a friend/guy he is - to the point she got interested in Takt and somehow asked him out, while he was not that interested till she mentioned MC.

If you go the route of him being gay and trying to "fix himself out of it" then the kiss thingy, dating and breaking up with kouhai, then dating Shizuku as a sort of forced marriage to hide his gayness from parents that latest chapters hint would make a lot of sense.

But then Takt makes a lot of "NTRy" faces, seems to have Shizuku on a tight leash, there are hints that he makes hikies on her neck, plus that he probably tried to force himself on her (early chapters when she came to MC house kinda in bad state), while she hits to be a virgin and want to lose it with MC. Also her not being able to probably attend the same school next year kinda doesn't make much sense with the "forced marriage" thing, at least till that marriage isn't connected with her and Takt going to a different school/something, or her being ill and his rich parents providing financial help with the marriage thingy as a "payment back".

This whole thing is a one big mess. Shizuku seems to have some hidden agendas which will force her to leave school on the last year. She is in relationship with Takt, loves MC, but magically can't tell him anything or just break up with Takt. MC seems to rather her not breaking with Takt, cause his gay borderline love for that dude makes him put Takt feelings and happiness abouve his own or something. Even kouhai seems to be weird, like she switches between having hots (the basically SA she did on him) for MC, with then talking about him like he is her brother she want to have and loving Takt. I just hope shit explaining all this won't be a dumpster fire so huge I will cook up from over a damn ocean distance.

Feels like the physics isn't making sense. The girl swapped place with the kid causing her to fall, then MC had the time to jump after the girl and hug her while holding her head during free fall?

Anime/Manga physics. Anything required for the story.

Another example... FMC trips and is topping over to the ground. MC can react and dive in from six feet away, face down and arms out. Next Panel: MC is laying on his back and FMC is straddling him.

Now we start the Coma Arc. For the next 259 days MC is in a coma while FMC's condition starts to deteriorate. On the Last Day the MC awakens and then the FMC, being granted her dying wish, is wheeled in to say goodbye. As their beds are side by side she reaches out and holds his hand. She smiles and her eyes close for the last time. The End.

TBH I personally have hard time seeing it too. MC talks about feeling something on his lips, then theres a panel that suggest kouhai kissed him by accident, but then later they show her kissing him on a cheek not mouth. While there was Takt shown getting closer at least with his hand to MC face while MC was falling asleep.

The "dated you to fall in love with someone else" could have been "gay" Takt wanting to find a female he can love instead of MC, but it could've ass well be him trying to love someone else than Shizuku, cause he knows she loves MC and he loves her too, and wanted to find someone else to not fuck up their triangle friendship, but it failed and he ended up with her.

All in all one thing I found out now while re-reading few chapters is that author has something for short hair. Both girls were cuter before - had long hair, kouhai even worse glasses that make her top tier in my eyes. And now both are short haired and kouhai "became cuter without glasses" to quote Takt to a certain degree. So basically both became less cute in my eyes, and both play some fucked up games with MC feelings.

Dancing around in the palm of her hand like always. Whatever happened to that time he put his foot down on insisting she tell him the truth (before Umimi's arc blew up)?

They both die in the fall, it's ruled a lovers' suicide and then they come back as ghosts. Yeah, there's probably water or something non lethal that will break their fall.
