is never explained. The entire chapter is Shizuku monologuing about her feelings for Riku as he sleeps during the time they last met 2 years earlier, right before she leaves him in the morning. Her terminal illness diagnosis is confirmed and she says she expected to die soon, learning of this as early as April and feeling lucky to have all the extra time and wishing she could have more. It’s implied that her coming death was certain to her, as she directly hands Riku to Umimi as noted in the previous chapter. This can only mean that the phone call is Takt/Takuto popping back in to be gay and lame (literally gay) or Shizuku’s mother informing Shizuku’s friends that she has finally passed on after physically and mentally declining for 2 years (which is what Shizuku didn’t want Riku and the others to see), and possibly to invite them to her wake and funeral - which would be a wonderful ending to actually draw as they all come together to see her off. Those are the only reasonable conclusions but the second one is the better one. Would be nice if mangaka weren’t addicted to being vague. It’s a lazy way to create emotion in writing.

This is basically “Your Lie in April” but sexy and without a hard conclusion about what happened to the main girl.

It should be studied how Riku is able to sleep through literally everything. I thought it'd be explained a bit but no, the boy is just in a constant state of being half awake. The extra chapter was bitter, cant even call it bittersweet since so much of it feels unsatisfying. There's the author's message at the end which I'm waiting for someone to better translate, but the author admits his own weak writing and promises he'll apply everything he learned to do better next time (which he says he's already started on).

Don't even bother reading if you expect anything good y'all. Other than good art, this manga doesn't offer anything plot-wise and matter of fact the ending is so shit that it is lowkey one of the worst ending I've ever seen. I respect the author but this is just hot dogshit trash.

Alright, just got the word that the english translator uploaded 73.5 to their website along with uncensored chapters 65 through 73.5. Google rdscans. I have adblocker installed but someone else posted that their website has malware and scam ads so you might want to get an adblocker.
