If she knows who the traitor is, then it'll be easier to prevent even more attacks. But if she doesn't, this is going to just cause more complications for Arakuni's life. Because now, you have a girl in your house who's in love with you. How do you tell that to Akabane when she inevitably finds out?

Does she deserve the exile? Yeah. Machisaka directly went against what her father wanted, and then tried to deny it anyway. The gun not injuring her but only destroying the emblem is interesting. Either the gun isn't that powerful, or that emblem is really durable.
