if Akane and Kaisei also get their own two-page spreads for the "I am a god of death" moment I'll be so damn happy lol, the one this chapter hit me just as hard as Shiguma's version despite the different tone of the story

so so excited for Akane to find herself through this story, it's the perfect contrast to last arc where she had to "erase" herself from the story to let it shine. This is wholly a guess on my part but I'd like to think that the underlying theme Akane will find in her version of the story will be "gratitude". She is here now because of all the encounters she's had in her life, and I think she could mold that into a take on the story where the protagonist shows appreciation for every connection he has in his life. From the wife who tells him to go off and die, to the different patients he saves, and even to the god of death that ultimately tries to end his life. Would make for a fun opposite to Kaisei who has almost isolated himself trying to surpass Issho, and it'd be building on the empathy she usually tries to work into her performances

the performances in this story always manage to surprise me and I'll enjoy seeing Akane's take on the story one way or another but I'd be pretty happy if I hit close to the mark too lol, only time will tell...!

Shomei's God of Death has arguably scarier design compared to Shiguma, but his tone is the complete opposite. i love it
