I wasn't expecting Akane to draw from Shiguma's health scare, what a cool (and heartwrenching!) direction for her first take on God of Death, even if it isn't fully fledged enough to stand on its own as a story
now we get to wonder what her Personification of Death will look like... I feel like Kaisei's will almost certainly be based on Issho like the last performance of his that we saw, and it would certainly Make Sense for Akane to choose a similar path (the ways she described Death this chapter feel 1 to 1 with how she'd describe Issho, after all) while still creating a different interpretation based on her relationship to that Death. I still believe the feeling she'll find at the root of herself and this story is gratitude but this chapter has me even more excited for her to find an answer regardless of what it is
but for now! Shomei backstory time! Very much looking forward to learning about the "stain" of the Tsubakiya and how he shaped Shomei's takes on Rakugo
