We can see author improved from their last work.
It's directly more compelling in the first pages, whether it'd be through the content of the story or the pacing of the panels.

The art is more unified too, with less empty white space and more pronounced nuances of darkness and light.

Don't get me wrong, it was clearly wanted in some panels in their previous work, but I think it was harder to link the two slightly different atmospheres so flawlessly, whereas there is no such feeling in this one, I can clearly feel only one art style, period.
The difference in art styles isn't noticable anymore after the third chapter anyway.

For some reason or another, I found myself crying while reading this one.
Maybe it’s because I’m an artist with similar feelings about my own family as some of the characters here…?
In any case, I found this a very moving and beautiful piece.
