Finally, finally someone IN the story proper sees through this "I can't bring myself to dislike King Soo-Won" nonsense and says, loud and clear, that there's something wrong with him.
To me, that's the single most important event in the chapter. The downfall of characters like Soo-Won, who have committed an unforgivable deed in the beginning but are painted in rosy tones afterwards, normally begins with casual remarks like that, by side characters, to plant in readers' minds the idea that they will end up hoisted by their own petards.
I'm dancing here. Anything that brings Soo-Won closer to where I want him - six feet under - is an event to be celebrated
