I didn't like this arc very much, but these are good developments:

-Finally, someone points the obvious: it doesn't matter if an actress is insincere or if her motivations are self-serving; what should be judged is her performance in front of a camera.

-Minori will always do whatever it takes for his friends. So forget this weird audition and this poisoned rivalry, and bring Okabe to the hospital ASAP!

For the purposes of the role they are auditioning for, sincerity DID matter! That's WHY Minori kept winning.

Minroi will probably get points for sacrificing his audition to help Okabe go see her mother.

Yeah, I know. But that the series has explained that the people behind the audition want to see how close their "true self" is to "the role of the heroine" doesn't make it less bizarre. It looks more like a reality show than a honest audition.

They're actresses, professional liars, not the real heroine. Their sincerity should always come second to their actual performance. That's why I'm so glad Tom lampshaded it in this chapter.
