MAGATOKI IS TOBARI’S WHAT NOW
Yeaa, I feel like for a long time the author doesn't know where to go with all of this and now we're at the point where he really needs to wrap up all of the story... but he doesn't know how so the suffering continues. If this is the truth we were refused to learn until now, this entire "Magatoki's plot" (and it looks like it is), then all this 300-something chapters is some idiotic plot about bad guy making a kid to a woman he hated just because he couldn't socialize for shit like her and he did it so he could torment the kid to project him venting his tantrum towards the mother. Basically one big dysfunctional family issues with fighting for custody over a child in the background. Seriously. There's limit to everything.

Author's health is also came into factor.
During its run, Momochi Dori sensei was hospitalized multiple times due of eye strain. That probably leads to them ending the series.
Couple that with the fact that Comico barely paid any attention to promote this series despite being one of its long running series (no anime, no merch, no print, nothing). Meanwhile, we got Nanbaka and Momokuri anime.

I feel you. And honestly it's kinda sad because this manga wasn't straight out bad from first chapter. If I had to make a wild guess for myself I was enjoying it to 200-ish chapter. It was then it started to drift to weird places and to be honest- these 20 chapters of "Dragon children" arc was for me like "good lord, gimme a break already".
