That's a good ending. Re-reading the whole arc from the start, it flows very nicelly...but getting drip-fed one chapter at a time made it feel like a bit of a slog.

Good. This arc was fatiguing and knocked the series down a few notches for me.

"a bit" of a slog, this dumb arc should have been half as long and i'm being generous, like Moody said, it felt like filler due to lack of ideas from the writer.

Hmm. While it's pretty likely that he's just in denial that Celeste wouldn't fall for him like he thought she would, I wonder if he saw something more in her? What if he somehow saw that she was a reincarnator, considering he was able to use magic, and now sees that 'Celeste' has been replaced by an unknown entity?

I mean, she mentioned that it was only the memories of her past life that had come over her. And she HAD changed far more than Ludwig knew even before the moment they came back all of a sudden.

So no, I don't think he either sees the reincarnator inside her (since technically they're the same person) nor something similar. Just him being too traumatized by his life to properly try and have context about all of this.

The real worry is whatever the person who put a knife on Mark might do now...since, y'know, they haven't caught that person.

this arc was extremely stretched, unnecessarily long, overstayed it's welcome by 50% of the chapters, this should not have been more than 6 chapters and i'm being generous

So, stabbing a nobleman from another country is perfectly acceptable if you're a nobleman yourself? Not to mention witchcraft. What's this naive logic? In medieval Europe, he would have become a hostage and wouldn't see the light of day until a huge ransom was paid. This whole arc was incredibly annoying and I'm glad I read it in one go.
