That blood oath seems like a load of bullshit considering the fact that you can't even unknowingly attack the people involved in it. It makes sense to degree, but it also seems so flimsy and the risks associated with such a thing seem way too high.

Would it extend to something like a landmine? Or you hiring assassins to kill someone in your stead?

Ahhh yeah can't be a happy timeline with all that Lore drop without solving it, on to the next reset (Hopefully this time Jade can Also see Arvel memories like Shou did). Poor Arvel, Seraphina, Shou and Jade in this time tho

Valery being the one to propose the Blood Oath, I wonder what ultimate aim he had, as I assume he's against our protagonists in some manner. The fact that Father & Two Sons all shared in the Oath alongside Arvel and Valery himself just feels like a long game play meant to detonate the inner circle of the North, at whatever time was necessary and/or appropriate.

I imagine this will trigger another Loop - and I hope that Arvel and Seraphina don't suddenly backslide. It felt like this one was the best they'd done thus far; but Jade dying is a huge blow, especially as it seems like the Blackstone Family besides him and his sister are still doing Bad Shit (even if it's not necessarily tied to the current Emperor, though I'd not be surprised if they are, just as embedded double agents).

Felt like they were super close this time, too. But if Valery is as seedy as he's always seemed to me, I guess his ties into all of this are the 'next phase' to focus on. That, and figuring out how to keep the Curse from disappearing off Cruel, or at least getting that Device and/or any means of rebuilding it away from the Blackstone Family entirely.

Well they walked right into an ambush, dude just told the targets right before it went off. A little late for a change of heart. But, knowledge is the true power in this story, like Outer Wilds. By being more aggressive they did the best they've ever done in this timeline, they just need to prune a certain family next time. And he can just share his memories with whoever he needs to now to get them on side.

First and second time around it was just "oops the prince is jealous of my brother" but now we have magic blood pacts and human sacrifices. What?

It's all about layers of conspiracy that eventually led to Seraphina's misery. So far, on every return Arvel thought he knew enough to stop the events only to find that there was more to it and whoever is the mastermind behind everything will orchestrate their downfall. I'm curious to see if this really will be the final loop, or if there's one more, where house Shadowstone must die to prevent Arvel's death and Seraphina's misery.
