Don't go and censor the manga on your own like that, it's one thing for some "scanlators" to go and delete boobs on characters, but to go and delete an entire panel is just too much.

I don't believe he's lacking money, being a powerful duke's son. Young slaves were more valuable/expensive because you could get far more work out of them for many years. Furthermore, he wanted to buy slaves because he knew from the novel that Absolute's underlings abandoned him in favour of the hero. He plans to mould young slaves to be faithful. In that sense 15 is actually already pretty old: 15 years old, with a tough life behind them, would have a whole lot of personal opinions, beliefs, stances, prejudices, etc. However, in the book Maria was a valuable asset for the hero, so it's worth it for Absolute to remove her from the hero's pool of power. Or at least try to. Even if Maria still switches sides later, if Absolute treated her fairly, maybe she won't view him as someone that absolutely needs to die (despite being Absolute).
