While i think he's an adorable child, i just can't enjoy that fluffy moments for too long because the reality that he was an adult inside just hit me 😫
Was it ever explained why he's acting so childish? Did i missed it?

I don't remember there being anything specific, but I feels like the story is going more the direction of his memories being just memories, no real life experience or anything, he is still a child, he just also have what amounts to a useful story he has been told that he remembers.
However he did also state in ch. 1 that he went to a bad school because he wasn't very smart, so he might really just be a moron.

not only was MC a moron, but I think he even died before reaching or fully grasping the age of 18. from a scientific perspective - he was still in the middle of puberty and therefore a child/teen when he died. not everyone preparing themselves to enter a university are adults after all.

Hmm no I think this is the case of a child remember he was reincarnated and that he was a dumb 18 years old.
It's like... he knows he used to be a teen/an adult and knew this and that (limited by his low iq haha), but he's a child so it's ended up as 'knowledge' rather than 'older teen/adult mentality'.
It's indeed quite rare in isekai genre to have reincarnated person didn't regain their latest age mental of previous incarnation.
