We know him as... a bit of an aspiring himbo, yes, but that's judging him by the standards of an isekai'd former adult, not as a seven-year-old.

But they do think he's not suited for war, and they're also really dubious that one of the most sensitive people they know is going to do well as an ascetic monk, which sounds like it was supposed to be the back-up plan...
