Most families don't know how to manage having one child who is significantly smarter/accomplished than their sibling.

If the family doesn't operate on "everyone's personal achievements will be celebrated equally as long as you experience growth" principles, then oh boy resentment can foster in thousands of directions.

The other siblings get exhausted at being compared to the "golden child" and act out so they can get attention. The accomplished child grows resentful as their accomplishments aren't celebrated because it's percieved as normal. So many ways for the family dynamics to become strained.

It's clear they never actually cared about their kids in the first place. They only 'care' because their kids are acting the way they want them to, but if they revealed who they really were I guarantee you they'd do everything in their power to push them back into that perfect little mold again.

make sense how fucc up the original games story.
each parent basically fucc up, especially MC parents.
they literally surprised how smart their son compared to other nobles kid, and even each tutor confirmed he's different. yet treat it as something to be achieved by his sibling like it normal things. i thought the father is bad from previous chapter but the mom is worse. like bruh when her children make point on their conversations, instead of proud she shut them up for her pride.
no wonder Orginal Diana is bad, she's victim of bad parenting

Haven't the tutors already stopped comparing Diana to Cain? Why is the mother doing it now??

She probably didn't get the memo like Cain did when Ilvareno gave his reports on Diana's studies.

We should keep in mind that though the parents have plans for their children's futures, they apparently aren't willing to follow every waking moment of their progress from day-to-day like the king and queen have made their servants do when following the prince. Cain and Diana's parents just expect the tutors to do their jobs teaching the kids the essentials of nobility, and that's what they're getting, nothing more or less.

Frankly, it really paints the picture of how the original Diana became a villainess in the first place, having villainous parents molding her to be the lady they want to be used for political gains. They never really cared what their children want nor what's best for them.
