Hmmm... OK this premise is actually really unique, a mash between regression AND reincarnation? Not only that but it's a two souls one body type situation? Don't think I've ever seen anything like it, I'm actually really excited to see how two mesh together. The reincarnee, the innocent one who wants to swerve away from their death through kindness and the knowledge of their otome game itself. And the regressor, the original soul of their body who's deadset on having her revenge and surving by being the last one standing yet clueless of how to achieve that goal.

Their contrasts in personality is gonna be really fun to see as they're forced to work together despite their odds. For now it seels like the gloria is the dominant mind but I have a feeling ako will force herself in control to dodge any bad situations. Hoping they meet at the middle where they can both learn from eachother. :wooow:

Thanks for the tl!

I don't think I've seen this particular premise setup before either. The One Within the Villainess has a somewhat similar premise, with the original host of the body being aware of & learning from the transmigrator (but it's not bidirectional), being in control (for most of the plot at least), being bent on revenge and the opposite personality of the transmigrator but there's no time regression for the main villainess.

This premise reminds me of Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito where a transmigrator and the villainess share the same body. The only difference is the villainess Remilia grew fond of the sweet innocent transmigrator Emi over the years until the fated day her betrothed prince breaks their engagement for the "bullied" saintess and exiles the MC. The reincarnator goes into dormancy, only for the villainess to wake up and gain control. She goes on to slowly destroy everyone involved in that fiasco.

I hope the double soul thing actually serves a purpose. Having a "good willed tsukkomi" retorting over every move of the villainess and yet the plan still carries through, it's pointless and I can see it becoming annoying extremely fast.
Sure, it gives this first chapter some kind of original spin, but if you're going to write "scheming villainess #10012 but she telepathically talks with a spirit" you can 100% do away with the spirit and still have a good story.
Like others have said, in The One Within the Villainess the transmigrator actually changes the villainess through her knowledge and attempts; here the main character already knows the future because it's a time reversal, so the otherworldy spirit serves absolutely no purpose (yet).

Hehh? This is interesting. I do hope that she acts on that revenge and that it isn't lenient.

The justice high must be met!

The problem is that the villainness is still a cunt, lol. "Speaking so intimately with a commoner makes my skin crawl."

Even if she's a victim of false charges and whatnot, it doesn't change how she's apparently an unlikable person anyway ._.

Also, the brother isn't just a fucking stepbrother. He wasn't adopted, you both have the same fucking father. He's your half-brother, lol.

Also, this is very different from The One Within The Villainess. Remilia was never actually a cunt, she was just rough around the edges.

I think the reincarnated person might be into this considering she was blushing when the villainess was threatening to crush her if she got in her way.

Ok, I am locked in. Beside liking villainess stories (because they are peak) this one has really interesting premise of 2 souls sharing one body. And I really hope that this get's explored more, like A-ko getting control of her body at certain moments in order to prevent any bad ending.

All in all, on top of this 2 souls 1 body thing if this becomes yuri (I mean, she did blush when Gloria threatened her) it will be very unique peak.

I would like to see how the reincarnation girl gonna fix her. Cuz that girl won't get any happiness If revenge is the only thing she focus on. And I wonder how reliable the narration from the villainess’s pov really is, hopefully there is a balance with both of them wrong at something.

Just a heads up, i read the novel like a week ago, it's not very satisfying to be honest. It had a good premise with 2 souls in 1 body but it was not utilized very well... And the revenge part was really sloppy and boring. I'd say this is one of the worst villainess revenge stories i read, unfortunately.

Mind spoiling it? I personally enjoy reading spoilers, even for things I'm reading.
It can also let us know if this is worth continuing, if the spoilers are really as bad as you are hinting. :thonk:

Maybe i was a bit to harsh, but even now after re reading a bit, i still dont like most of the story. It has some good points, but i don't know if i would recommend it to anyone. Maybe just run trough it after it finishes.

There is a lot to write, and i mean a LOT, so i'll just write about each character keeping it as short as possible.

- Cindy and Alan, the mistress and step brother - Gloria sets up Cindy to make it look like she hurt her, a noble. She is arrested and that made Alan demand his father to save her. He refused, and Alan in rage threw a memento he gave him, it hit his head and knocked him out. He was arrested as well.
The next day both mother and son got executed by beheading for harming a noble. (this will happen in the next 3-4 ch).

- Gloria's father - Ends up paralyzed only able to move his eyes after Alan assaulted him with a brass memento. He dies during a 2 year time skip.

- Bernard, Gloria's cousin - He is a good guy who is named the next heir after Alain is executed. He is just a side characters who appears as Gloria's support just a few times. It's a shame he wasn't used as the Male lead...

- Cedric, the prince's aide - Starts as Gloria's close friend during this timeline but greed makes him self destruct. His brother exiles him from the family (a faith crueler than death in this world, he has no human rights). He was branded on his face and lives as a homeless beggar in another country...

- Melody, saintess - Oh boy, this one was rough... Also a reincarnated person. She doomed herself in this timeline pretty much. She had no idea Gloria changed the whole plot before her arrival. After accusing and attacking Gloria with no backing (no one was on her side since the plot changed, but she didn't know) she was tested by the Church but turns out she has no powers. This made the people turn on her. She is then kidnaped by rioters, they severally rape her, and then brutally murder her by trying to behead her with dull weapons. It was crazy!

- Brian, knight - For the most of the story he is absent. We meet him shortly after Melody, he is used by her to get closer to Edward. During Melody's rape and murder, he was the one who tried to save her but failed, getting physically and mentally damaged. Gloria puts him in charge of Melody's memorial which he guarded for 10 years. During that time he also fell in love with Kate as she reminded him of Melody.
One day when he came to report to Gloria he saw the exhausted Kate, Gloria told him that the King is using her body too much, and that makes him angry and he resolves to set her free. He assaults Edward and is executed by beheading the next day.

- Kate, maid - This is the character most of you will fell sorry for... In this timeline she was the most loyal person in the story, always by Gloria's side. But that didn't help her... After Gloria was named Edward's fiance, she made Kate be close to him in order for him to fall for "a poor commoner" replacing Melody before she appears. This works as Edward falls in love for her, and stays like that even after Melody got close to him.
After Gloria and Edward get married, Gloria persuades Kate to take her place and bear Edwards child. Due note, Kate actually doesn't like the Prince, but she can't do nothing about it since he is Royalty and her Mistress asked her for it. So she proceeds to take care of the nightly activities until she became pregnant.
After her son Nicholas is born, she is ordered to keep the now King away from other women, but she fails. He became a womanizer and all of this took a toll on Kate's body. After Brian's execution she gets totally mentally broken, and Gloria sends her away to a monastery or something and never saw her again. We find out later that she tried to kill herself several times and is now kept asleep most of the time.

- Edward, prince/king - Like in the 1st timeline he is still the same scumbag. He hates Gloria, but this time his reputation is so low that no one pays him no attention. He is mostly a background character until the end. As mentioned above, he married Gloria but Kate was his Mistress. After his son is born he becomes a womanizer and sleeps around with most of the maids. He doesn't know but all of them were hired and managed by Gloria for that purpose. After the 10 year time skip and Brian's execution he goes on a hunting trip and falls from his horse. He has severe injuries and as there is no Saint, no one can heal him. On his death bed, he starts calling out to all the main characters one by one, but Gloria sitting next to him brutally and honestly tells hm what happened to each of them. At the end telling him he is all alone and no one loved him (this is probably the best part of the whole story imo). 3 days later he died... And literally no one cared lol

- Gloria - There is too much to write, so i'll try to keep it as short as possible. She uses A-ko's memories to make Sake which she names "Tears of God". Alcohol is a luxury and this is cheap to make so it will be accessible for commoners and boost Gloria's reputation. Her fame sky rockets and the Church awards her the title "Guide" which is similar to the Saint, and gives her a purple pendant which she must always wear as proof. During the whole story she manipulates literally everyone to get her revenge. I won't repeat myself, you get the most of it above. So after becoming the Queen, and after Edward died, she continued to be the one in charge even after her "son" Nicholas was named King.
We time skip to her being 60 years old, she has breast cancer but doesn't care even though A-ko begs her to try treating it. On her death bed her cousin Bernard visits and she tells him Nicholas is not her son, that he doesn't have to support him after she dies. Nicholas turn out to be the same scum his father was, the spitting image of him. He was so much hated that no noble woman wanted to marry him lol
So here is the plot twist, Gloria's final revenge is to make all the people miserable, that's why she made the new King scum unable to rule! She never forgot their cheers and insult when she was executed. She dies satisfied...

- A-ko - She is just there... Yeah i got no better explanation to make. The only interesting part about her is the last chapter.
She was with Gloria's during her whole life, she tried to persuade her for some time to not get revenge but after Cindy and Alan were executed she gave up. Gloria just used her during her whole life to look at her memories, her only important part was when Melody attacked Gloria. She tore of the purple pendant and in that moment A-ko was in control of her body. She perfectly played her part, crying to get pity even from Edward. Little did she know that Gloria forced the switch to use her innocence as a weapon to ruin Melody.
After Gloria dies A-ko hears a snap and opens her eyes looking at a loft where a rope is tied to a ladder. She gets up rubs her neck and notices a rope around it... She looks at the mirror next to her and remembers everything. Her name is Eiko Honjo, and she tried to kill herself. She is described as a plain raccoon faced girl with long black hair. Basically what happened to Gloria at the beginning happened to her. A junior stole her long term boyfriend. He and his friends made fun of her and he told her to kill herself. She looks at the mirror again and amused thinks "what would Gloria do?". THE END!

So as you may have noticed from A-ko's part, the whole story was probably her dream after she failed to kill herself.

Well, I can see what you mean by it being unsatisfying. I actually don't find the twist with A-ko at the end bad, I don't think it's really implying it was all a dream, but I do find it off-putting what happens to the maid and other innocent people. It seems much of the MC's misery in the original timeline was her own doing, and then rather than having any character development, she simply tortures people before they've even done anything wrong.

Really, it seems like the entire story is made solely for the character development twist at the end, but is it really worth reading the entire story just for that? I'll give this a couple more chapters, but based on the two so far, and what's to come, I'm getting the feeling I won't enjoy it anymore than this. The revenge seems too unsatisfying, because the revenge is coming from a person we won't be cheering for.

So thanks for the heads up!

Glad you got my point. Gloria is so petty the whole story you can't even cheer for her. Some characters were so different from the 1st timeline it made no sense to get revenge on them, Cedric, Brian and Kate for example... Her family, Edward and Melody i understand, they deserved it in this timeline too. And then ruining the whole kingdom that loved her more than anything at the end was totally unnecessary...

As for the ending, i mean it's ok, but it doesn't give a single hint if the story was real or a dream. It would have been so much better if Gloria reincarnated in Eiko's mind as the last scene.
