I think in the chapters around fighting God Emi outright says that everything she does is for the one she loves, no? You could interpret this as platonic, sure - in fact you could interpret everything as platonic soulmates, but even the demon prince guy (forgot his name sorry >_<) interpreted that statement as romantic, and is taking it as such, so I think it’s a valid reading to see the relationship as romantic.
