Series is just kinda alright. The problem stems from the fact that nothing happens between the beginning and final few chapters (speedrunning the 'main quest' of the game), the main villain does nothing of value after somehow being a mastermind manipulator that outsmarts Emi in Chapter 2. The condemnation event is practically hand waved with just "she did bad things", which then causes issues with the ending. There's not very much to dispute and Remilia proceeds to find a bunch of magical bullshit to reverse uno the Villain. Such as a magic antidote that reverses the love potion effects, followed up by a magic device that can see the past, followed up AGAIN with the Demon Lord's eyes that can see through lies. Because of this I didn't feel very satisfied about Remilia's revenge.
The Story meanders on how the Love Potion works, it seems to affect decision-making but then attempts to claim it only affects their emotional state NOT their mental state. But this makes ZERO sense since emotions absolutely affect your decision-making. It seems like the writer got cold feet about how to handle the roofied characters and realized that they would be seen too sympathetically, trying to shift the reasoning to allow some blame to be placed on them. Another problem is since the Story vacates this premise so fast and only returns to it at the very end, these characters are hard to care for at all. I can't help but feel the middle section of the story dampers what could have been fantastic build up to the final chapters.
The Art is solid, character designs are good. It has it's flaws but ends on something that made me tear up a bit.
