Also what is with all these isekai and fantasy mangas/manwhas with their harems and concubines. You want civil war and succession crisis? That is how you get them.
Clear succession laws and early and clear naming of the heir apparent is how you keep the kingdom and dynasty stable, not with having competing princes and multiple wives and concubines. The latter leads to at the bare minimum to purges each time a succession happens. Can't have pretenders running around after all.

I don't remember if there were more details in WN, but for one, currently MC's whole plan is basically just to piss him off so much he goes and cancels the engagement out of spite. Only later when there's no progress on that she starts a more elaborate plot.

Also, the one who interrupted him first was MC's brother, the prince can't do much to him.

The one who interrupted him wasn't the girls though, but Etheria's brother Najaek; they came in on his cue.
So he can't make a fuss about his future brother in law's actions when he's depending on a political marriage to Etheria to solidify his position to the throne. Also, it's "his" big day for which he is taking all the credit so a fuss would expose he hasn't worked with the others students nor planned anything.

Poor guy is dancing in Etheria's palms.

Well, the whole structure of the story is that it follows the "original" game story beats (but with a twist), and culminates at the accusation scene and the following "trial" where the accusations are proven false and the prince meets his downfall.
