Well, considering that I've been translating these manga chapters...
I've actually read the whole WN (minus some of the extras after the main ending) three years ago when this manga first came out.In fact, second prince's engagement is actually discussed in the next chapter I'm translating now - they probably decided it flows better to include it into dialogs there, instead of front-loading it in this chapter.
