Hmm, the new comment UI still needs work for sure. Namely more than just 2 comments please. That aside this chapter was quite a satisfying chapter.

The "new" comment system is just a currently worse version of the old original comment system.

Originally before the site nuke/rework years ago, comments were embedded into chapter(bottom of page). Just like Mangaplus, viz, webtoon, and countless other sites(basically every manga site from official, to TL website, to those sketchy-as-hell pirate sites).

This "forum" style external page comment section was made as a "temporary" workaround fix while they worked on more important/pressing stuff than return of embedded comments.

I don't know exactly what they plan to do now years later(whether full roll out of embedded comments to replace forum, or a feature to entice supporting the site(like letting supporters get embedded, while the rest of us go forums?)).

I can't remember if the old comments were "load more" or had pages for large threads.


UI I assume won't be a problem for embedded comments eventually if this is the start before a full roll out. They are just getting the bones in place, letting guinea pigs test it out and bug fix/optimize, and will improve it at some point(like when they fixed UI to support users on different platforms(mobile vs PC, etc).
