I can't wait to see her come out of her shell and abandon that shitty family of hers.

It's going to be so satisfying when she turns her situation around in spite of her whole family. I can already tell.
Thank you so much for the chapter!

So her brother made himself the successor and ruined his sister solely because he saw her look happy? I'm sure his mother (who of course we will learn is only with the father for personal benefit and is a schemer) made all these terrible stories about the true heir. Well when the saintess loses everything and the queen and king are the only ones with actual power the whole family will be on the streets and assuming the daughter who made the right decision will just forgive them and beg for them to take it all from her.

Ok, what did the stepmother tell the father? He was originally fine with her reading and talking to him, but after the brother saw her the father immediately did a 180.

"Women musn't be smart, they need to be perfect pawn, it's annoying if they think by themselves"
It's basically what i understand from what he said "You'll be married someday. Behave in a way that will elevate you family and brother who will inherit" Why educate a pawn destined to leave after all?

Yeah, I hope it would be detailed more in this adaptation. I tried looking for the original novel but it wasn't depicted clearly. Just a brief implication that Sauli's mother must have pushed hard for Sauli to be given special attention because he's going to be the heir.

Even if Bernadetta is a genius, I can't see the logic of not having a dedicated professional instructor for Aini. Presumably Aini's education is important as a saint candidate so you would want a proven instructor to ensure a comprehensive and high quality education. Unless her not knowing proper etiquette was the point to ensure she doesn't deviate from the storybook the church has started using for propaganda.
Theres a chance she got an actual profesional instructor but it worked so badly (her getting bored and the instructor getting annoyed of not being taken seriously by a peasant, saintess or not) so they thought that giving her a tutor that was also her age would work better.

Damn, her Intellect and Genius really scares people? If she goes all out she would be the right hand of the Queen herself.

Thank you for your hard work!

Another note about the names:

While "Sauri" is a name, it's a Hindu name (so, rather unlikely). I'm guessing that the name the author intended is "Sauli" (a form of "Saul").

Both Bernadetta and Sauli have honestly bad parents: the stepmother always interprets Bernadetta negatively and (according to the novel) actively prevents Sauli from getting near her — its also implied that she badmouths her in front of Sauli, resulting in his present attitude — meanwhile, the father is basically a complete bystander, never putting his foot down about how his wife treats and raises their children, and yielding to her every request (out of guilt, maybe).

To begin with, her handling of Sauli's crying back when he and Bernadetta were first getting to know eachother was incredibly immature: she didn't ask why he was crying, doesn't ask Bernadetta why she chose that particular book, doesn't suggest an alternative book or activity, and doesn't try to mediate between the children to improve their relationship. Instead, she assumes that Bernadetta was being malicious, makes a snide remark, and then keeps the two children apart as much as possible. It would have been a very easy situation to sort out and resolve, not to mention that all Bernadetta needed was to be told that Sauli wasn't ready for that kind of book.

Small wonder Bernadetta and Sauli ended up the way they did.
Sauli does get his act together, especially once he remembers what she was reading to him back then (it's very advanced stuff, but about a rather unsettling legal topic, which is why he started crying). The two end up competing for the position of heir, with a "let the best one win" attitude and no regrets about who wins the prize (which is ultimately Bernadetta, who also becomes the country's first female Prime Minister). In the author's notes for that chapter, they comment that Bernadetta and Sauli could have been close and that they still might become close. For the web novel, the author left the resolution of that aspect of Bernadetta's story open-ended — maybe Sauli ends up (along side her husband, Prince Lucien Barrière) being his sister's right-hand man?

This 'Saintess Apprentice' thinks everything is going to be handed to her, but her lack of effort and abrasive attitude towards those who can actually help her is going to get her disqualified!

Also, why the hell is the prime minster, in other words the lead advisor to the royal family, against his daughter befriending the future queen and trying to elevate the influence of a rival political faction?!
