People were theorizing the last chapter the Mage's teacher had something to with the time-traveling dimension magic, but it was this guy in the hood all along.

Which then leaves the question open still, why did the teacher use the magic for if wasn't related to Albus's time-traveling/looping.

I think it's more like you're abusing the time rewind so much, every memories and timeline started to converge (implode).

Yeah I miss that. Maybe the author just used it to pull people into the story but won't use it anymore.

I do kinda like it if the messenger isn't being a dick about it though. He's not saying 'that's outside your mission, I don't want you to do that,' it's more like 'the power I gave you is reaching its limit.'

This is getting even more spicier, i expected him to sacrifice himself in the end instead of Fiona, but this makes much more sense.
Considering his party is now aware of past loops, maybe he will disappear and they'll come to save him, Yuno style, using the revived witch's dimensional magic.
