He needs to defeat the demon king quickly so the FMC doesn't get possessed by the demon king, cause his goal is a perfect ending where everyone of his companions make it out.

The perfect ending means preventing as many casualties as possible. There's only so many villages he can personally save before he can't keep up, so defeating the demon king quickly is generally going to be better.

Finding a way for mage girl to not be possessed requires juggling with how much time they spend not killing the demon king as fast as possible.

The history of heroes after the first hero suggests that no other hero in those ages was insane enough to loop ad infinitum for the "happy ending" they desired. I wonder how those other heroes died.

The Demon King implanted seeds inside Fiona and her brother and those seeds sufficiently developing is what allows him to possess them. So he believes that if he defeats the Demon King fast enough, then Fiona will be safe. However, as others have pointed out, this assumes that the seed within Fiona hasn't already developed enough by the start of the loop. Also, it forsakes her brother. Albus'll have to change solutions if he wants the perfect run to end up saving him.

Given the result of Albus' first attempt, the unsuccessful heroes probably died the same way. They made it through the journey, get to a comfortable "level 70ish but the demon king exceeded the standard level cap and was level 199."

Defeating the Demon King fast is for the requirement of keeping overall casualty as low as possible, since the more time Hero takes, the more people would die.

Saving Fiona is another goal, which can't be solved by delaying either, as more the delay the likely Demon King would gain more strength and be able to take over Fiona much quicker.

Albus'll have to change solutions if he wants the perfect run to end up saving him.

The only way I can think of currently is Albus to somehow absorb the Demon King's Soul inside himself before it could possess Fiona, then use Change the World to get thrown out of time, making both him & Demon King's Soul stuck to each other forever.

Albus already had resolved himself to not be part of his own version of the perfect future, but as long as there is chance of Demon King resurrection, that won't be possible.

Honestly when i started this i was bummed that there seems to be no romance, it'll be like all the other stories and wanted to quickly read to the latest and forget about it.
