So shes doomed in every timeline, and hes trying his hardest to save her. Guessing the reason shes added to the party, is hes already tried not bringing her into danger, and she still got herself killed on her own so he needs her by his side to ensure shes safe. Likewise, the "speedrun" part is likely due to another event in her doom; possibly a family member ill in the opposite direction forcing her to leave the party (and dying out there), that he needs to conclude his adventure before that happens to escort and save her.

On a more serious note, my assumption is he's doing any any% deathless in order to save everyone he can making the statement a lie. He did claim he liked her best though, and perhaps like the others suggested she has some timegated issues that he needs to blitz to solve.

i wonder if he'd be able to find some spell/way to transfer thoughts/memories into ppl so he wouldn't have to explain it everytime but the doomed timeloop narrative is interesting to watch

altho even with the speedrun hopefully despite having 'strategies' there's ways to train on the way too without it taking up too much time as opposed to bringing like a 'level 1' girl to the boss fight or so
