Yeah the axe came for this manga and they speedran it to get to the ending in time. Glad to see that they're trying to get to the end of their story, I've seen many mangas that just rush the end of the current arc and say "Oh their journey isn't over but this manga sure is" with a quick illustration of the characters looking at the horizon.

I don't mind it. There's been a trend in just putting out endless slop, so this has been refreshing.

did some research and the reception for the manga on the Japanese side is rather positive and the series is considered a niche. Its not all that popular but those who do read it praise it as refreshing and innovative. Idk if that's enough for the publishers tho, but it has it's fans. Whether it's being axed or not is still not known. Tbh, this might've been the author's own decision. They didn't want to drag out the story with too much side quest and decided to speedrun them which kinda fits the premise of the series. So from what I've seen the story is fine for now

The plan is clearly

to keep big bro alive by taking the Demon King soul into himself then disappearing from existence by overusing the world changing spell
Kinda like that ending from BlazBlue

That way Fiona gets to live, gets her brother back and everyone wont even remember Albus existed(except for some reason everyone still remembers him)
