Currently reading through the web novel bc I just found out it's entirely translated and
MIGHT BE SPOILERS BUT TECHNICALLY ALL OF THIS ALREADY IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN COVERED IN THE CURRENT TIME FRAME??
Well I just hope people realize the little sister is also a victim of abuse here. She's already being shone in a worse light (mostly bc this is several chapters in one so I highly doubt we'll get much of a look at her) but seriously, an abusive father isn't going to be abusive to only one child.

In the web novel, Primrose was bullied her entire life for being the daughter of a mistress (something she didn't understand the meaning of, she also genuinely originally thought Indra was her bio sister) and the moment she arrived she was treated as an enemy by the staff and Indra (which is completely valid on Indra's part bc obvs but Primrose isn't the problem here, the dad is). Literally everyone other than the dad just kinda looks down on Primrose and people might try to say they try to correct her mistakes but like they don't?? they talk down to her, it's fucking ridiculous. One side just gives her criticism without actually trying to teach her anything and the other gives her nothing but praise. Combine that with how kids basically see their parents as gods? It's no wonder she goes to her father for everything, to her he's the only one who is "safe".

Also, in the conversation where Primrose asks Indra to start attending meals again? She genuinely thought it'd be sad for Indra to eat alone. Yes, Primrose does have the thought of "elder sister is the one who is scolded when she's around" but 1, literal child i don't think anyone should expect anything more than "i'm not hurt when x happens" and 2, she backs off when Indra brings up how bad it is for her. Like, Primrose doesn't think into things too hard, kids usually don't.
And yes, Indra is also suffering but that's the entire point of the intro so I don't feel the need to go into that part.

Based on her entire pov chapter (chapter 7), she wants to be friends with Indra. And she wants Indra to be happy.
The fact that she goes to their father when Indra does things that cause her distress is just the obvious thing to do for her?? The example given: Indra gives nasty looks to Primrose, Primrose goes to their father because it's scary, Indra stops looking Primrose in the eyes entirely.
Another example: Indra's collapse startled Primrose, but their father says she's faking it, Primrose obviously believes her father and goes to wake Indra up by surprising her (because in her mind, it's the same as when she faked stomach aches), all three maids IMMEDIATELY turn on Primrose in a way described as scary for her, she's taken back to her room. (Fun fact here: the maids are never scolded for their behavior towards Primrose, unsurprisingly it's Indra who gets the flack from their father). Primrose is the one who pesters the doctor into checking in on Indra. And when Primrose asks the doctor for clarification on the mixed messages she was previously given? Does the doctor gently explain as one should to a child of her age? No, he immediately just drops into "her life is in danger lol also you're the worst for doing an action that could have killed her even though nobody really explained shit to you".
The fact I'm trying to get across (even if I'm rambling) is that Primrose (at least in the webnovel so far) isn't malicious. Even if I've got a genuine fear that she's just going to be turned into a two-bit villain bc let's ignore the fact we've set the girl up as well-meaning but ignorant with literally nobody teaching her. In fact, she's already shown as much happier with Indra's new personality bc even if Indra's harsh to her, the current "her" is much easier to be around.

Anyway tl;dr: Primrose is also very much set up as a victim of abuse and if this story does my girl dirty I'm going to be so mad.
This is a little girl who has also gone through her own kind of hell and looks up to her elder sister (let's not even get into the fact that this is explciitly an adult mind also treating a child like this). She doesn't understand a lot because nobody teaches her anything, it's either baseless praise or plain insults for not knowing things she had no way to. I don't know how old this kid is but for god's sake she's less than 5!

Sorry for the ramble, I just get so mad with these kinds of stories for how they treat often treat the other children characters like villains for mimicking their parents or doing what they've always been taught as "right". This is either gonna be a breath of fresh air or the author's going to throw out the set up for "child villain who sucks bc she should just know these things". Though maybe the lack of research into much of anything so far is just annoying me (acting like europeans don't have soap for one???).
Hardly the worst I've seen tho and I'm still interested in some things (mostly Primrose's fate and the world building) so I'm gonna keep reading.
At least until I've answered the above question of "huge age gap or adoption?" (Pretty sure this is an adoption thing tho based on the few reviews I saw)
EDIT: Indra does actually address this in the next novel chapter so my hope is rising! Still not happy with the way she's treating Primrose regardless of the fact she knows all of this, but hey some people like this kind of protag? Hoping Indra grows on me.
EDIT 2: Indra is, in fact, not growing on me. Someone send help she's insufferable 😭 what kind of hypocritical misanthropic edgelord??? "Everyone's awful and they suck and nuance doesn't exist and humanity should just die and I've never done anything wrong ever" bitch you have an adult brain with adult life experience from a modern world with modern values wtf?? All I can do is hope the manga's better.

Page 25 seems wrong. Unless someone is named Tamono, the archaic Samurai way of entering and demanding attention is Tanomou!

I felt the 33 pages they gave us in the chapter could've easily and reasonably made up a tankobon. After reading what you said... yeah, I won't be holding my breath.
