They're pulling an 'The Princess in the Dumpster'. In that story the Princess is apart of a magical race that is forgetten when they die. So when the mum died, the dad forget all memories and didn't know about Estrella until they met and he found out in the records that she really was the Princess. So it's likely a similar plotline to that.

Maybe the previous Duke was waiting till he got a grandchild and his son wasn't alone before dying. It's a nice thought I guess.

Why is she blushing in every panel she appeared in from start of manga till now? It's annoying, she's 18 not a child, and she's supposed to be scared. This is the first time I comment but this shit triggered me
